Dodge Challenger SRT8
Are you looking for a Dodge Challenger SRT8?
Q: 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 .. Pros v Cons?
anything that would keep you away from buying this car?
A: Junk transmissions. Chrysler has had a BIG problems with their transmission over the last 10 years or more. Mainly the cases. But a Pro would be, gobs and gobs of horsepower are available from that engine.
Q: is a dodge challenger srt8 a ss?
A: not hardly, that’s a logo that’s owned by gm and no one else can use it,its patented logo through them,i think you already knew this though, good luck.
Q: 2010 Camero SS vs Dodge Challenger SRT8?
Which is Better
A: the challenger is a much better car then the camaro will ever be,not only because its a dodge but it was built to be strictly a muscle car,and so far has lived up to its name, nothing wrong with a camaro i just like the challengers looks and power a lot batter, good luck
Q: do u think i deserve a dodge challenger srt8?
i have been doing strenuous hard labor with my dad sense i was 10.i dont ask for much, beside basic thins like soap and clothes. and also go with my dad on long trips to mexico and back same day. this all i want and they wont give it to me cuz i refused a month of work in mexico.
the work included me burning my skin off my knuckles to fold a tarp in 100 degree wether. on multiple occasions. iam now 16
A: First of all let me say congrats on having good work habits. I bought my son a Dodge Dakota Sport with a 360 engine in it. in two weeks he recieved three tickets with it. He no longer has the truck. The car you want is an awesome car, but that is alot of horsepower for someone who probubly just got his licence. Buy something a little more tamer and work your way up to the challenger…
Q: Which type is better for the Dodge Challenger?
List the horsepower, speed, miles per gallon for each car. Also tell me which car you prefer, and why? I NEED TO KNOW WHICH CAR IS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!
Dodge Challenger srt8
Dodge Challenger r/t
Dodge Challenger se
A: SRT-8 – The best of the bunch, fully loaded and comes with 6.1L Hemi. I get about 14L/100km (16.8mpg) on it (6 speed), and I drive it hard.
R/T comes with 5.7L VVT Hemi. Slightly less power but with some mods these have shown to really wake up. The automatic version comes with MDS. It shuts off 4 cyls for fuel economy when cruising.
SE is the cheapest of the bunch. It’s the base model with a 3.5L V6. No balls.
Q: how fast is the rt and srt8 challenger 09, dodge man, help me?
thanks to you guys!
A: Here are some specs http://autos.aol.com/article/2009-dodge-challenger/
Q: Dodge Charger srt8,Ford mustang gt500,Cheverlet Camaro or Dodge challenger?
All these muscle cars are fast Good looking But which one of them is the best?
A: Dodge challenger is better..
Q: Dodge Challenger: R/T or SRT8?
Im turning 16 soon and want to get a Dodge Challenger with manual transmision. Price-wise, should I get an R/T or a SRT8?
A: The 5.7 Hemi in the R/T has I think around 385 HP, so you’ll still roast almost anything at the red lights, and still gets decent mileage. The 6.1 Hemi in the SRT is stronger, 425 I think. The mileage does drop a bit, but it’s still not what you’d call a binge drinker. The R/T is going to be a bit cheaper, but you could probably get a good used SRT for around the same price. Damn, wish I got a Challenger for my 16th birthday, ya lucky bastard!
Q: does the SRT8 Challenger rims fit on a 1971 Dodge Challenger? Thanks?
A: no they wont, look on this site and it will tell you what will fit that car,god luck,http://tirerack.com

I tried to get the best info I could, but had to use a few different sources, and the prices are constantly changing. I think the Challenger looks the best, the GT500 is completely awesome, but the Camaro is no doubt the best bang for the buck, but GM still doesn’t know what the crap they are doing. What do you think?
And here’s a cool video I think you might like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZlGMX8G3B4&NR=1
Good info. G
The 0-60 times are better because they are at a roll. According to car and driver their best 0-60 was with the SS automatic. Sorry I got lazy, there are a lot of variants. I just couldnt find one source that had all the info. Car and Driver “on youtube” compared the Mustang GT , Challenger, and SS, because of the price range, but I though that was a little unfair to the GT with 100hp less than the SS. I don’t really like the Camaro’s look, but atleast it doesn’t look like a GTO. I would like to see and pony car take on the ZR1, that car is amazing.
A: ….interesting – where arre the statistics you are using coming from (manufacturer’s or actual test data)??
the challenger is extremely heavy (obese) and i have never seen any actual performance test that put it better than 5.1 or slower 0-60 and 1/4 in 13.6
the camaro – best bang for the buck in terms of street performance has been measured at between 4.7 and 5 , and the 1/4 in 13 so your stats are ok there .
mustang gt consistently in all tests does 0-60 in 4.9 and the 1/4 13.5
there has been no road test of a shelby gt 500 that i have seen where it has run better than 4.7, does the 1/4 in better than camaro times.
both the shelby gt 500 and mustang gt based on mustangs new suspension have outstanding roadholding – lateral acceleration is now on par or better than bmw 335i….worst road car is the challenger, camaro is a touch better but lags far behind the ford product (lateral acceleration mustang 95/96g., challenger 82g., camaro 90g.
….best bang for the buck is camaro, i agree – if you want a street car (providing as 2 test reports have filed you are not taller than 5′11″ as gm has seriously slammed the roof….its low)….but we all know that gm have cut their performance division so whether v-8 camaro survives is a question…..its been terminated before chances are will be again.
challenger, yes i guess it looks ok….but its worst of the bunch for both performance and handling and all reviews have placed it there, and for sure chrysler is toast…
mustang, constant production for over 45 yrs and larger aftermarket following of any car.
personally i would go with the shelby – have driven it and believe me on the road its tight and solid and handles exceptionally well for a muscle car….camaro no comparison.
re your video, we all know about the ferrari killer vette zr1, amazing car….the interesting shootout in 2010 will be the ZR1 and new
shelby gt500 KR, at 725HP out of the box, improved roadhandling, looks like ford has its own ferrari/porsche eater (priced about $10,000
under the vette zr1).

Q: when does the 2011 dodge challenger come out?
I’m very interested in purchasing the all new 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8. They’re coming out with a new 6.4 engine that will significantly raise the horsepower level over previous years. I’ve contacted several dodge dealerships and have received no information on when I can place an order for one. Conversely, you could go to any Ford dealership and order a new 2011 Mustang GT with the all new Coyote 5.0 engine, and it’d be here in two months. So is there any Dodge ‘insiders’ out there that could give any release date information of the 2011 Challenger SRT8?
A: The new Challengers start rolling off the line in late July. So you should be able to order them around that time for sure. I know this because I build the steering gear that that car uses, and they have a shut down every year around the second week of July to change the lines over for the new models.
Q: Dodge Challenger, Chevy Camaro, 2010 Ford Mustang.?
so with the muscle car wars once again in full swing, who do you think will come out on top as the best performance vehicle for the best price.
Dodge Challenger SRT8 – 425 hp very heavy car however
Camaro SS- 400 horsepower also very heavy
2010 Ford Mustang – (speculated) 400 hp 5.0 302 boss engine, much lighter than the other 2.
also, if you could have only one of the 3 which would it be?
also, since im mentioning the highest performance models for each, i may as well also include the Z28 that will be announced in the future, and the Shelby GT500.
A: Camaro-It was originall planned to have a 400HP, but they boosted the power to 425HP like the Challenger.
It is lighter than the Challenger and about the same weight as the mustang.
The Camaro was always the more aerodynamic car with a higher top speed.
I know the 0-60 time for the Challenger SRT-8 is 5.1 seconds and for the camaro is 4.9 seconds.
I don’t know how fast the Mustang will be, but the current Mustang GT does it in 5.3 seconds, so I would guess it would be around 5.0 seconds flat.
The Ford Mustang GT500 Shelby does 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds, and that is with 500HP.
Q: What could cause water to leak inside my 2008 Dodge Challenger, when I run the air conditioner?
I just bought a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. After driving in the rain on a road trip, with the air conditioner on the whole time, I noticed quite a bit of cold water under the passenger seat of the car. There is a very flat hose that is under each seat, presumably to vent air to the back seat passengers. I think the water condensated there and leaked out, but the dealership is totally stumped! They have checked the obvious, the evaporator coil, but that’s not it. They say they are unable to duplicate the problem, and after spending as much money as I did on this car, I can’t accept that I have to live with MILDEW!! Can anyone please help?
A: when you bought an american car…you should’ve expected something like this…
that really sucks…
take it to an independent automechanic…not your dealership and see if they can figure it out…if there results are the same, then your going to have to live with the problem. but if they figure it out what it is, and can prove it, then bring to the dealerships’s attention…if they don’t help you out, you’re going to have to hire a lawyer or just live with the problem…
hope this helps
Q: What is the difference in exterior on Dodge Challenger SE, RT, and SRT8 ?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been researching and besides the engine’s that I know the SE has a 3.5L V6 250 HP
The RT has a 5.7L V8 372 HP
and the SRT8 has a 6.1L V8 425 HP
I would like to know how to recognize these cars based on the exterior body. I’ve noticed that only the SE has the same gas cap color matching the whole body color. While the above trim levels have an aluminum gas cap.
Also the RT sometimes has the optional body lines with the words RT along the side of the car. Is this Exclusive to the R/T ?
The SRT8 however has the Lines not on the side, but on the hood all the way back to the trunk. Is this exclusive only to the SRT8?
If you have any other tips on recognizing the different just by looking at the exterior of these trim levels please feel free to share.
Thank You
A: The R/T stripes you speak of are not standard with the R/T they are optional. So if one really wanted to they could slap them on a SE trim.
As you stated the R/T and SRT have chrome fuel doors.
The hood stripe on the SRT is a standard feature.
SRT has 20″ wheels standard as opposed to the 18″ wheels on the R/T. Although you can get 20″s on the R/T as an option for about $1200.
The SRT has an “SRT” badge in the grill instead of an “R/T” badge.
The SRT has the Brembo brakes which have red calipers.
I’ve seen SRT’s that have a black spoiler but not on all of them.
