Are you looking for a Dodge Challenger SRT8?

Q: What I need to do to increase horse power in a 2010 Challenger SRT8?
I would like to increase the horse power in my Challenger SRT8. What are the things I need to do this. I really don’t know all the options I have. Thanks for your answers.
By the way, it’s a 6 speed manual. Thanks again.

A: add a programmer to it first before you make any major changes to it,that’s the best thing you can add to it to start with, then see how that helps it,trowing parts at it isn’t going to make it run any better unless all the parts work with each other rather than against their self, good luck

Q: Have your heard of the car Challenger srt8?
My dad ownes 1..
rick b.. dont be rude!

A: yes the srt8 is one of the nicest ones they build, and there’s a few of them around where i live at,i can look ot my window on a clear morning and see the one my neighbor owns, your dads got a nice car.good luck.

Q: What is faster, the Saleen S281, or the 2010 Challenger SRT8?

A: truth is the mustang is lighter and has it beat, unless they lighten the challenger up some the times will be slower on it than the mustang, good luck.

Q: Camaro SS vs Challenger SRT8 vs BMW 335Li Coupe?
hey all.
Im looking at buying a car soon. Beemers have always been my choice of vehicles, however the camaro & challenger caught my eye.

Pro and Cons would be highly appreciated as I am ready to make my decision. I have massive research, however i always ask peeps for their opinions.

Cheers!
What car would you recommend and why?

A: I’m a huge fan of the Challenger and Camaro, I think they are hot with great V8’s. But, for a little more, getting a 335 is a whole different ball game. The 335 is just incredible, after driving both for 1000 miles, you’ll be glad you got the 335.

Q: Camaro SS vs Challenger SRT8?
Whats BETTER looking the Camaro SS or the Challenger SRT8?
I already know that the Camaro is faster then the Challenger but what do YOU think is a nicer looking car
I personaly beileve the camaro looks much nicer but whats your opinion?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: I have a Challenger SRT8 it has a 6.1 and I want to take it to the next level what would you recommend?

A: It really all depends on how much you want to spend.

You can get a pretty solid HP boost for relatively cheap by upgrading the Exhaust system (Corsa is usually pretty solid) and your Intake. Combine that with a T-stat and a tune, and that will probably get your best bang for your buck.

Higher end solutions would be replacing the headers or putting a supercharger in it…but that can get expensive.

Q: what rental car place can give me a good deal on renting a 2009 challenger srt8?

A: none, there’s no places that i know of right now that are buying those cars and renting them, they know if they rented it they probably wouldn’t get it back in the same shape it left out in or get it back at all,i doubt we see many of those for rent anytime soon, good luck.

Q: why would anyone buy a challenger srt8 with the faster, sexier, and CHEAPER camaro ss out?

A: Because Challenger is a more authentic “muscle car” reincarnation.

At least, that’s what C/D said when they did the Mustang/Challenger/Camero comparo.

—
Kasey C, PC guru since Apple II days
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Q: is $15k markup standard on a limited SRT8 Challenger, top of the line?

A: yes right now it is,if you wait a while though like don said it will be cheaper, right now though the mark up is very high on those, and all are mostly spoken for that are being built right now, their already back ordered, good luck.

Q: Is the Challenger R/T good enough or should I get the SRT8?
performance wise. Since the car is pretty heavy will the R/T be good enough? The good thing about the R/T is that it only needs 87 octane, whereas the SRT8 needs 91 octane. And it also has a Multi-Displacement System, and SRT8 doesn’t. but does the Multi-Displacement System kill performance?

A: Compare performance of a Charger with the same engines, and you’ll have your answer.

A good way to look at things is to get a regular Challenger SE or R/T, enjoy it without being killed by gas prices, and then in 2 years, sell it and get an SRT, which by then will be better, and also will have the option of a stick.

Q: I’m want to get a new car and i’m having trouble should i get the camaro ss or challenger srt8?
camaro ss $33,775

chalenger $42,250

A: Don’t even go by that dealer price with all the markups at our dealership the price is at $45,000 for a Camaro. For that price you can buy a corvette and if your not worried about back seats then that is the way to go(back seats in Camaros are almost worthless anyways). Anyways it seems like the camaro is a better quality car, fast, and awesome interior. I would rather buy the corvette though.

Q: What’s faster 2010 Mustang GT500 or 2010 Challenger SRT8?

A: 2010 Ford Mustang GT500:
supercharged/intercooled 5.4L DOHC V-8, 540-hp, 510 lb-ft of torque
0 to 60 mph time: 4.3 seconds
quarter mile: 12.5 second @ 116 mph

No way for the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to match with that crude 6.1L SRT HEMI V8 they’re gonna put in. Will Chrysler see 2010?

Q: what is faster the 1970 challenger rt or the new challenger rt or srt8?

A: if set up right the old school challenger would be ,but with all the new electronics and the updated transmission with extra gears the new one would probably beat the old school one on top end,i have drove a few of each though and there’s no comparison of the new one to the old feel of the old challenger,i also owned one back in 1973,good luck.

Q: Charger srt8, Challenger srt8,Camaro ss or Mustang gt 500 kr?
Which one should I get?

A: Hard to say.

The Mustang GT KR is best handling and lightest, and it is as fast as the SRT’s.
The Camaro SS accelerates fastest with a 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds better than the Mustang GT500KR and SRT’s.

And then the SRT-8’s have the highest top speeds since they are not limited to 155mph. They reach 170mph.
By the way, the SRT’s have the same HP, torque, engines, and performance as each other, as well as the Chrysler 300c SRT-8 and Dodge Magnum SRT-8.

I would go with the Camaro or Mustang. They are the best performing and most fun to drive overall.

Q: can i put an challenger SRT8 exhaust on my Challenger R/T?
Okay so i have a challegner R/T and i love it but ive been wanting to put on a new exhaust. and my friend has an SRT8 and that exhaust is so loud and beautiful. i love it is it possible to get that same exhaust on my car? or at the very least that sound?

help me out here…get the beautiful soundingSRT8 exhaust or a new exhaust from a company..but if you suggest company please name the company and make sure that exhaust would be just as great as the SRT8 sound

A: no,the srt-8 has a specially designed exhaust system just for the hemi engine, and it probably wouldn’t work on your car, good luck.

Are you looking for a 2010 Ford Taurus?

Q: TAURUS?!??!!?!?!………..?
Are there any taurus or people who know taurus that have real life experience on their “lover” or “soulmate”
and what is their sign

or based on real life experiences what
do you see taurus are most compatable with

A: I’m one and have dated a Leo, Aries, Virgo and now I’m with my soulmate which is a Scorpio (VERY sensual & erotic)

Me –> Taurus (Sun, Moon and Rising) with Cancer in Venus

Q: Taurus ?
Hey, are any of you Taurus? If so, do are you honest, do you hate liars, are you loyal to your friends and expect them to be loyal to you. I am just like the description of the Taurus listed above.

A: Hi Sooner – Yes, yes, YES, YES! We are also hard-workers, are homebodies, love to entertain with good food (great cooks) and cozy surroundings. We take great interest in all physical matters, and are very sensual. We usually have good speaking and/or singing voices, and enjoy great music and peaceful surroundings (okay, maybe not April Tauruses like Streisand; they seem more argumentative and they’re a little intense). Although we have the bull as our symbol (and have been accused of being stubborn), we are determined. There is a big difference. Aries is actually the stubborn sign – look at an astrological calendar – Aries the Ram is charging up the mountainside with its eyes closed! We do find it a little hard to get rid of things, though, because we’re sure we’ll use them again. All the fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio) find it hard to change.

Great Tauruses (besides you): Pope John Paul II, William Shakespeare, George Lucas, Frank Capra, Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Hepburn, Uma Thurman, George Clooney, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand, Janet Jackson, Jack Nicholson, Bono, Bing Crosby, QEII, Cher, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Luther Vandross, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Q: taurus…………….?
Who’s compatible with taurus coz im a taurus as well. Also what star sign is Avril Lavign??……….

A: everyone who says cappricorn and virgo are correct but i am a taurus and all the cappricorn and virgos in my life have just been friends, i think in a relationship with them it would be stable and bore me to tears…

that being said heres what i have learned…

go for an…

aries it you want something passionate deep and full of changes.

taurus if you want some serious connection and stability with a man who will treat you like a queen but no real thrills.

a gemini if you want someone who will baffle you with there unstable and ever flaky ways but lots of fun to be around.

a cancer if you want someone who can make you laugh for hours on end.

a leo if you want someone who will want to control you and always expects attention and loyality above all others.

a virgo if you want someone who will always be there for you when you need them but will nitpick the hell out of you.

a libra if you want someone who can accomplish all your goals together with but will lack in real emotional commitment, at least how you will feel.

a scorpio if you want your soul mate and all that implies not the hollywood description of soul mate the real one, look it up if you dont know…

a saggitarius if you want some serious fun in your life with someone who is always on the go and always looking for something new to try in and out of the bedroom, but you will have competition with these guys.

a cappricorn if you want someone who with your relationship will become like an old married couple, these guys will move a mountain to keep finacial security for you and will never let anyone disrespect you in there pressence.

a aquarius if you want someone who can make you laugh who is very sweet loving and deep but lacks in that security that you crave because they are always on the go and hate routine so somtimes disappear for periods of time to recharge.

a pisces if you want the whole package someone whos sweet tough creative loyal loving and adventurous your knight in shinning armor who is not afraid to let you know.

so its all on your personal opinion and what you are looking for. no one can tell you that…

oh and…
Avril Lavigne Whibley
Birthday: September 27, 1984
Star Sign: Libra
Hometown: Napanee, Ontario (Canada)

Q: What is the best relationship to a Taurus, how do you attract and keep a male Taurus?
I can look it up on the net so experience-based answers please! I just want ideas to compare and evaluate, my relationship with my Taurus is just becoming more confusing DURING our current separation. He won’t answer what’s wrong or what isn’t even. He does match up well with many general zodiac info so far, I’m interested in making some sense out of it now in relation to others’ experiences with Taurus men or as a Taurus man! Thank you much!

A: Well my experience is interesting, I met my Taurus after a devastating marital situation and he was like my knight in shining armour, everything I thought was fairy tale he made reality, treated me like a princess, after a year in a half I saw less of him but, I was so sure that I loved him. He would always remind me that we were friends first and not to be upset with him for spending less time because he had to work so much. We kind of agreed to split up, I started school and he got even more busy, always texting, finally I becam fed up and I ignored him. He wasn’t used to me ignoring him like I did but, I did. I stopped all communication with him by the end of August. I figured I would never see the love of my life again and I wanted to move on. Happened to go out in December and what do ya know, as soon as I walked up to the bar, he was standing right there. I was so in shock. He was already looking at me, smiling from ear to ear. He told me he loved me as he exited the function and I was like wow! My feelings for him came back automatically, So we’ve been talking for the last month, and I came clean finally told him what I wanted, as shocking as it sounds, this man is all for us being together! I’m like wow, why the sudden spark? What I had to realize is I could never get him to initiate a deeper relationship, but I willing gave him his space, I remained friends even when I wanted more, I never stopped loving him and I just kept hope. When we stopped talking for 4 months, I figured if it was meant to be, it will be. And he showed up. He moved closer to me, I just have to wait for him to cut his rebound off. So many things about a Taurus makes them worth the wait, I am an Aries and believe me, it was hard, I’ve never hooked back up with an ex but, we are in love and he even admitted that we are meant to be. Trust me when I say, it has never been so easy to talk to him these days. He’s agreeing with me and not being stubborn. Patience is the key to a Tauruses heart. It shows loyalty. Stay nice and sweet. I would always get upset with him and be sweet by the time I would hear his voice, guess he couldn’t find another like me. at least that’s what he told me. Patience, Taurus will patiently search for the perfect mate, if he holds onto you, you are on his pedestal, but if he’s sleeping around, he’s gonna distance himself, physically. but if he truly loves you he will not be able to let you go, We didn’t see eachother for a year and a half. I found ways to better myself in the meantime, while he tried to see what else was out there. I did the same and all I could think about was my Taurus. Patience……..

Q: How can Taurus and Cancer start a relationship if neither sign with initiate anything?
I’m a Cancer woman and have strong compatibility and attraction with a Taurus acquaintance, but both of our signs our notorious for waiting around for the other person to make the first move. What should I do?

A: start by with friendship. Taurus’s love security! this will ease both of you into a relationship. if you’re already past this stage, suggest a low-key lunch. the way to a Taurus’s heart is through indulgence, especially food. lunch is always more casual than a dinner date, so there won’t be as much pressure.

Q: What sign is most compatible with taurus romantically?
I am a Taurus female and I was wondering what sign would be most compatible with me. Most of my past relationships have been with scorpios and Aries(bad idea, sorry all you Aries). My Best Friend is a Cancer, I wasn’t sure if in romantic relationships Taurus and Cancer get along. What do you think?

A: my bf is a taurus, and im a cancer. we get along perfectly. we complement each other really well, in that when i get emotional over something, he’d help me think more logically or practical about the situation. he’s very patient with me and understanding and affectionate. i know taurus are dependable, laid-back people, and thus, i really appreciate that. (one of my close friends is a taurus too, and i love her personality.)

we may butt heads bc taurus can be stubborn people too, but in this way, it is also a positive, bc once he’s made up his mind about something, he sticks to it. he’s like a rock, steady and grounded. i, as a cancer, love that safety and security he provides. he loves that i can take care of him and be there whenever he needs me. turning it around to you as the taurus, and he as the cancer, i would guarantee he would really appreciate you in more ways than one.

otherwise, try any other earth signs like virgo and capricorn, of course! pisces is good too, bc they’re sensual, dreamy ppl with a great imagination, and he would love your dependable ways too. scorpios are intense guys, aren’t they? you either love them or hate them.. a lot. never in between. so be warned.

hope this helped!

Q: What does it take for a scorpio and taurus to make it work?
What does it take for a scorpio and taurus to make it work in a relationship?
Scorpio male Taurus Female.

A: To communicate and to like one another.

Q: How compatible is a female Sagittarius and a male Taurus together in a relationship?
Im a Sagittarius(girl) and my boyfriend is a Taurus. We get along perfectly and all, but im just wondering how compatible our signs are together and what kind of a relationship Taurus and Sagittarius have together.

Thanks!

A: This team has got some challenges from the get-go. That’s the problem right there – Taurus is content with things the way they are but Sagittarius always thinks they could be better and wants to make changes. If Taurus can learn not to resist new things and Sagittarius can learn that sometimes just staying in one place is really ok, they might be ok. Just gotta keep an eye on the whole bickering thing so they don’t drive each other crazy.

Q: How many stars are in the constellation Taurus, and what are the main ones?
I have a science project on the constellation Taurus. I have been looking all over the internet just to find a huge variety of answers, but not many have been very consistent. Who can help me out?

A: These websites might help a lot. They have the main ones, and a great deal of other information:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stars_in_Taurus

http://www.astrofilitrentini.it/mat/costell/tau_e.html

(Those two sites are accurate and consistent.)

Edit: if you are asking about only the ones that form the “zodiac” sign of Taurus from the ancient sky map, then together Hyades and Pleiades were said to form the constellation Taurus.

Q: What can I do to prevent transmission problems in my taurus?
I have a 1997 Ford Taurus GL with 140,000mi on it and I have heard about slippage problems with taurus. Im very concerned because I have noticed a slight slip going into 1st gear. What can I do to safeguard myself from problems from driving habits to anything more mechanical. Thank You.

A: Well you said it……your driving habits. Plus make sure you change you transmission fluid at the recommended interval. That’s about all you have control over.

Q: someone explain to me the difference between the ford fusion and the new Taurus?
i read an article and saw pics of the new taurus in motor trend and though they have some slight diffrences (e.g i think the taurus has a slightly longer body) they appear to be identical!

though they claim the taurus is the (failed) 500 just renamed it lookes like a new fusion

im younger than most so maybe someone who knows more could help me out here?

A: The new Taurus is a rebranded Ford Five Hundred, with some engine and style modifications. The biggest of which is a new bigger and more powerful standard engine, and getting rid of the CVT transmission.

I purchased a new Fusion in early April, and had taken the Five Hundred (Taurus) and Fusion for test drives. The Taurus is quite a bit bigger inside and somewhat larger overall. It’s classifed as a “Large Sedan.” You sit higher in it and it also has an enormous trunk. Big enough to throw 3 bodies in easy.

The Fusion is classified as a “Mid-Sized Sedan” and is very roomy inside for a mid-size, but it is a mid-size. It has the same engine the Five Hundred did, but because the Fusion is smaller, it’s not underpowered like the Five Hundred was. The Fusion also feels sportier, with a tighter ride. The Five Hundred (Taurus) ride reminded me of the ride your Grandpa’s big sedan used to have.

Q: Do Taurus and Virgo people share the same thoughts on love and crushes?
For example, would a Taurus analyze their significant other as much as virgos do?

What are your thoughts of ideal matches and how they view each other?

A: Both are earth signs and both are trine (triangular) to one another. This indicates that they are mutually supportive and compatible.

A real conclusion about your compatibility with another person can only be made after an astrologer has examined the way many different factors interact with one another. The most important four of these are the Ascendant (for the practical compatibility), the Moon (subjective, emotional compatibility), Venus (for compatibility of sensuality and desires), and Sun (for ideological compatibility). The effect of the other planets, especially Mars, Jupiter and Saturn on these four is also very important. What you are asking about here is just one out of many aspects of a real astrological compatibility assessment.

You should consult an astrologer personally for more information

Q: What are the differences between the Beretta 92FS and the Taurus 92?
I know Taurus bought the factory, including tooling from Beretta, and produce a very similar gun to the Beretta 92FS, but they obviously aren’t quite the same. What the differences? How about the quality of the Taurus?
Do the two different guns use the same magazines?

A: The differences between the two are minimal, the Taurus is the copy cat. One difference is the Beretta has a slide mounted decock safety while the Taurus PT92 has a frame mounted safety and decocker. The Beretta 92 i have found to be more accurate, by just enough of a difference for it to be worth noting. I like the grip of the Beretta better than the Taurus.

Also, the magazines are not interchangeable. Given the choice I’d take the Beretta, but there is nothing wrong with the PT92 either. The PT92 I have has never had any quality issues, but i have had some bad experiences with Taurus customer service. I sent a gun in, got it back with the wrong thing fixed and rusted through. The awesome guys at my local shop let me return it for a full refund.

Q: Does anyone know if the right passenger rear window glass from a regular taurus care will fit a Taurus Wagon?
I have a 94 Ford Taurus Wagon and my right passenger rear glass is busted. Someone has the glass for sale for a regular Taurus car, and the doors look the same, so I was wondering if the two are compatable. Any help someone could offer is appreciated.

A: I would suggest calling a local auto glass company or salvage yard…they have interchange charts or books that tell if one will fit another.

Q: How does a Scorpio woman seduce a Taurus man?
I dated his close friend, and I know that Taurus’s tend to be very loyal. Not sure if he would even go for me because of this.
Also, what do Taurus men usually find appealing in women? Do Taurus men and Scorpio women usually work out?
Thank you!

A: They don’t usually work out. Your more compatible with Pisces or Cancers. But I suggest you be sweet and keep smiling. Don’t go too crazy! They like sweet girls.

Q: How much trouble will I have swapping a 2008 mustang gt engine into an older 60’s mustang?
I most recently ran into a deal for a wrecked from the rear 2008 Mustang GT. I would like to find an older 60’s Mustang and swap the engine and transmission into the older car. The 08 mustang is complete with everything computer etc.

A: Your Idea is great !!!!

This is called a Resto Mod.
Taking todays drivetrain and installing it in an Older car.
They sell well at Barrett Jackson, if done right.

Now the Year model is what you need to study.
What is the best year model ? 67 68 69 70 71 72 73 ?

I’ve seen the 69 Sportsroof (fastback) done with 06 GT500

Also a 07 California GT stuffed into a 68 Coupe.

No 64 1/2, 65, 66, just not recommended for this

You can upgrade brakes to aftermarket or use your donor car

And yes you need to gut your Older car and this will be a ground up, Better than restoring, also most new car when done.

Read more about Resto Mod ’s cars.

Cuda’s with the Newer Hemi are the most done cars.

Q: What’s the best exhaust for a 2005 mustang GT that gives great sound performance and increased power?
What is the best kind of exhaust to buy for a 2005 mustang GT that will sound amazing, give great performance and increase power?

A: Bassani, for power and its up to the driver for sound. I’ve heard mustangs that I absolutely hated in terms of sound (mostly SLP equipt), and others that sounded great. I’ve found that everyone has a slight oppinion variance when it comes to exhaust.

As for your power question, there is very little power to be gained from the system. Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords did a side by side comparo, and Bassani netted 10hp. That was with a headers back swap, not just mufflers.

Ford put a really good exhaust on this car, and its good to 600hp. The sound is a bit dull, but as I said before its all in the ear of the beholded. Go to a cruise night or car show and listen for yourself. Also make sure the cars have the same setup as yours. Modified engines will sound different anyways.I ‘ve got bassani’s on my 90GT and love them, chose to leave my 06GT stock until I find that right set of mufflers.

Q: What upgrades will I need to make to my Mustang GT Premium to use the Saleen 600+ HP Supercharger?
Oh and where do i get the interior stuff from the saleen s302 extreme and what suspension, tires, wheels, brakes, decals, saleen body kit alrdy chosen and saleen exhaust, what stuff should I use to be a drag racer 08 mustang gt premium
oh and I have as much money as needed and whats a good gear ratio and some favorites you have for interior.

A: Interior check out UPRProducts(dot)com. As far as the Saleen, fuel pump, injectors, tuner, to do it right. Suspension is pretty decent for the 2005+, but check out UPRs tubular control arms, Eibach ProKit springs, Bilstein shocks/Struts (or Tokico), Steeda swabars, UPR bumpsteer kit and endlinks. BFGoodrich Comp TA KDW2 tires, Brembo brakes, etc. Stay away from the swaybars if you are strictly wanting to go drag with it. Also for drag, check out Lakewood suspension and BFG drag radials or Nitto 555Rs (unless you are totally slicking it, then get Mickey Thompson). For street use, 3.73s are good gears bot think 4.10s for drag. Really depends on what you want to do with the car (and what trans you have). Also upgrade the shifter if 5 speed, and axles, subframes, and trans. upgrade if going hardcore. BTW, the Saleen blower sucks for drag, why do you want that? If you are serious about racing, go Procharger F1R. All in all, we need more info in order to better help you.

Q: If I replace the engine in my 2001ford mustang gt with another mustang gt engine, would there be any problems?
I was looking into swapping out my mustang gt automatic engine that has 180000 miles on it and replacing it with a 2001 mustang gt automatic engine with 30000 miles on it. I was wonderin if there any concerns with swapping engines. I didnt know if theyre unreliable and breakdown easy or get worse gas milage. Can you tell me of any concerns or your opinions. Thank you, I appreciatte your answers.

A: If it’s the same engine from the same model/manf/trim level, there will be 0 problems. Sometimes you can even swap engines from different years. This can be tricky as there are normally engine modification from year to year of production that can become problematic… ie.. emissions, hardware, weight, etc..

Q: Whats the best way to make a fast, street 1996 mustang gt?
I owned a 1996 Ford Mustang GT that has a 4.6 liter V8 in it. I am looking to make it faster, but keep it a sensible street car. Besides intake and exhaust, what are other good mods that will make power without killing gas mileage or keep it from being street legal?

A: Supercharge
After market headers and matching exhaust system.
Better flowing heads.
Hotter Cam
Higher rear end ratio (3.55:1).
Underdrive pullies
Replace mass flow to larger size.

Or trade in for a Saleen.

Q: Would a 2003 mustang cobra engine fit in a 2004 mustang gt?
I have a 2003 mustang cobra that was wrecked for behind but all the engine and transmission parts are in working order. I am interest in buying a 03-04 GT and putting the engine and transmission for my cobra in the GT. Will that be an even swap?

A: Yes, but you should make sure that you have the wiring harness and the computer/brainbox. Here are some more helpful sights from true mustang enthusiasts.

Q: What car should I buy a 08 mustang GT, a 09 honda accord coupe or a nissan 350z?
I like all 3 cars but I still haven’t make up my mind! I like the mustang gt a lot but the problem is da gas even though gas prices are low! The nissan 350z is very nice but is to small n I also like the accord coupe a lot!!!

A: Honda Accord Coupe – Affordable, dependable, and looks good.

Q: 1996 mustang GT How much should I sell it for?
I have a 1996 ford mustang Gt convertible, automatic. The engine runs great but it needs a paint job, back window came off the convertible top, driver seat is torn, needs new tires, theft lock comes on sometimes when u start it,heater doesn’t work. How much should I sell it for?

A: The market on these is really soft. Here in Texas Id be happy to get 2 grand.

Q: Where can I find some rear seat upholstery for a 1994 mustang gt convertible?
The rear seat of my 1994 mustang GT convertible is a bench seat. The leather upholstery needs to be replaced. I have searched far and wide including on the net but to no avail. Please help!

A: I would start with the local junk yards, that is very unlikely, but it may work. My second bet would be either car-parts.com or ebay, also unlikely. I would also look on craigslist.org or other local marketplaces. If none of these give any results I would check corral.net (a mustang forum webpage where everything that has to do with mustangs are sold. If there are still no results I would have them redone at a local shop.

Good luck searching, and best of luck

Q: What is the best clutch to use on my 2000 Ford Mustang GT which will soon be Supercharged??
The car is a 2000 Mustang GT 4.6 5-Speed which will soon have a Modular Powerhouse Vortec SuperCharger kit. Needs a new clutch so i might as well get one that can handle the power that is soon to come.

A: Centerforce is the best to use. it has a normal pedal feel but more clamping force than a heavy duty clutch due to weights that are added to the pressure plate that increase clamping force as the pressure plate spins faster due to centrifugal force.
it’s also easier on the clutch cable and clutch quadrant (self adjuster).

Q: What are the steps to making a 1994 mustang gt faster?
I just got a 1994 mustang gt and I’m looking to race some. Nothing serious just for fun. I have already purchased and installed a cold air intake system and performance exhast, but what’s next?? Cause I can’t make sense of these car mags. Please help!!

A: i drive a 95 gt and my plans are:

air intake (you already have)
do a full tune up ( performance plugs/wires/cap/rotor)
gt40 upper & lower intake
x pipe/high flow cats/ mufflers
long tube headers
3.55 gears (3.73 if automatic)
70mm throttle body
underdrive pullies
upgrade to 24lb injectors & MAF
MSD ignition

Q: What’s the difference between a 2004 Mustang and a 2004 mustang GT?
I know a regular 04 mustang has a 3.8 V6 and a GT has a V8 4.6 but based on just appearance do they look any different or are they exactly the same?

A: There are significant differences

If they are manuals. the V6 will have the T5 and the GT will have the TR-3650
The V6 has 7.5 inch rear axle, the GT has an 8.8 inch w/Trac-loc
The GT will have wider/taller tires
The GT has bigger front brakes
The GT has a quad-shock setup for the rear suspension
The GT will have dual exhaust
The GT will have a far firmer suspension

For appearance, the GT will have bigger wheels, the afore mentioned dual exhaust and possibly some fake hood and side scoops.

Q: How much will insurance be for an 17 year old driving a mustang GT?
I got a choice, a BMW M3 or a Mustang GT, me being a proud american picked the muscle instead of the beamer… so now, we’re looking for one. the problem is insurance, i need an estimite of how much i/parents would be paying monthly/yearly.

A: I recommend you this site where you can compare quotes so you can find the best option for you

http://qinsurance.notlong.com

Q: How much would it cost to install forged pistons in a 2002 Mustang GT?
I’m looking at getting a 2002 Mustang GT and would like to install a nitrous kit. I know forged pistons would be a good upgrade to get, but I don’t know how much it would cost to install them, or what other upgrades other than spark plugs that I would need. Thanks for the help.

A: a complete stroker kit will be in the range $1800 (pistons, rings, rods, rod bearings and crank…..this will allow your engine to run up to the range of 500hp (either by way of supercharger turbo or equivalent power boost from a NOS kit)…

http://www.nthcoast.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=91_165_166&products_id=787

if you are having a pro shop sd the work, count on 2 – 3 days install time including a pro tune to reset the engine management system.

you will also require:
-cold air intake and larger throttle body (73 or 75mm)
-performance exhaust, catbacks
-it would be preferable to install performance headers to maximize power delivery to the rear wheels.

you can ck out those prices at american muscle online.

….be seriously fast

cheers, 04 cobra

Q: Does a roush mustang have just as much power as a mustang gt?
I have a 2006 roush mustang stage 1 (v8, 4.6L) and was wondering if it puts out the same power (hp, torque) as a regular 2006 gt.

A: The ROUSH Mustang Stage 3 spins out 430 hp and 400 pound-feet

The ROUSH Mustang Stage 2 contains the 300 HP producing 4.6L V8 with 320 lb ft. torque

The ROUSH Stage 1 Mustang Varies, but typically, has the same engine as Stage 2 but with less equipment.

GT pushes out about 300 hp and 320 lb.-ft. of torque

Good Luck.

Q: Mustang!!!!?
I am doing a project for homeschool and I need to know the advanteges of a mustang
I am sorry the horse

A: Since you are posting in “Pets”, I assume you are talking about the horse and not the car.

As a horse, the mustang is basically a “feral” breed. They are wild, and therefore take a bit of effort to “break” and make suitable as a working animal. Additionally, being a wild breed the conformation as well as the personality traits are less consistent than they are among purebred horses.

On the other hand, being “mutts”, their genetic diversity makes them generally more hearty.

You might want ot watch a movie called “Hidaglo” if you are interested in mustangs. It is based on a true story about an ultra distance endurance rider who lived in the early 1900s and was a champion of the need to preserve the wild mustang. One of the big underlying themes was the age old question of the merits of “genetic purity” vs. “heart and soul”.

Q: mustang????????…..?
what year of ford mustang should i get?? a classic or a newer?

A:
$4,000 1998 Mustang V6

$6,000 99 to 2001 Mustang V6

$8,000 V8 1999 to 2000

$10,000 V6 2003 or a V8 2001

stick to these years and engines

Q: How much would a 1986 mustang convertible insurance be?
I’m seventeen and I’m looking into getting a this mustang and I wanted to know how much it would be with a the classic car plates on? My friend has a 1979 camaro and his is only $88, but this mustang has a 5.0 so it is bigger than his.

A: I’ve shopped a lot. These gave me the best quotes for my 21yr. old son.
http://tinyurl.com/AutoPolicyWebInsQuote
http://tinyurl.com/AutoInsTipsQuote
Be careful – his 5.0 “earned” him a ticket and now HE PAYS the insurance.

Q: What is the insurance rate on a Mustang compared to a economy sedan?
Is there a major difference in price to insure an economy sedan (ie VW Jetta) vs a Mustang V6? How about vs a Mustang V8?

A: You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com

Q: How much is a Cessna Citation Mustang?
How much is a Cessna Citation Mustang?

A: The price of a new Citation Mustang is $2.7million.

Q: Where can I find a stock mustang convertible top for 2002?
I might be buying a mustang convertible that just needs a new top to look good.

Where can I find a top that is the same that they come with stock? [Or a better looking one without it being too expensive]

Its tan.
Well I can’t find anything else thats nice around here.

A: Just type “convertible tops” into google and you’ll get dozens of options.

The top itself is pretty cheap but install costs a fortune and it’s way more work than the average do it yourselfer can handle.

Plan on about $1,200 installed.

Secondarily, are you sure you want that car? Mustangs of that age are garbage. (Current owner of a 2000 mustang convertible with 92,000 miles.)

Q: How can you make a 67 Mustang handle big horsepower without a roll cage?
Or is a cage the only way to strengthen the unibody of a Mustang? I know subframe connectors are a joke on these cars. I am running 11.80’s, but it is a street car. I would like to build a chassis and drivetrain to handle (some day!) 700-800 horsepower. My body is already “rippled” from running the e.t. that I do. I’d like to make sure that car is rigid enough to prevent this in the future.

A: if you get into 10 second et’s i believe you have to have a roll cage to race. you should check out chassis specialty shops for proper chassis stiffening.

Q: How to get stripes on my Mustang (inexpensive ways)?
I am planning to get stripes on my Mustang but they are really expensive if i do it in some auto shop. Can i get stickers online which i can stick rather painting?

Please help me with some best inexpensive ways to get stripes.

Well its 2002 GT brown , so which stripe color goes good?

Thanx in advance

A: couple of sugjestions here reasoable priced as well. lets start with the pattern. are you planning on rally stripes ( 2 side by side accross the top?) a lazer light would be awsome for this but barring this start with simple string and run it from the front of the car to the rear pull it tight. you want this line dirrectly down the center. measure that its exactly the same from engine hood left and right sides, in the center of the roof and on the rear most part of the deck. when good, put a piece of masking tape under the string at the rear center and front and pesil a line where the the string is at. now measure from that mark outward aprx 1 foot and place another piece of tape setting the outer edge of the tape as your marker. do the same on the other side depending on how wide you want them appart try running a test line . you can use a chalk line with white or blue chalk get a friend to hold the one end on the tapes edge at the rear pull it tight and hold it tight to the same edge at top the switch and repeat from the front. you’ll have an easily removable test mark to view and shift to taste. when satisfied you have two options paint or pin stripe tape kit. the tapes are available in many different colors and aprx 4 inch wide. you have to have a trust worthy friend to help you apply this as you only have one shot at setting it on. thats why i told you of the line previously. both paint and stripe reqiure you to have a clean surface so give it a good bath. i’d advide ruffing the surface for adhesion for the tape not much needed though simple scotch brite pad staying in the area to get the tape. you could also paint the stripe with duplicolor spray paint ( it’s a better grade of spray paint )meant to touch up car paint and a large aray of colors to choose from. a bronze would look hot on your color I think, anyway you use the blue masking tape for this basiclly do the same as i said before lay out your planned stripe area, step back check it for your satisfaction width and location adjust as needed, use some mediem to fine wet dry sand paper and dull the suface to be painted for adhesion wipe with tack cloth as you must keep it lint free. tape and paper the area’s not being painted and aply a light coat of the paint from the back of the roof to the front staying 4 to 6 inches from the surface. if you can find it get one of those spray can sprayer handles it gines you better control. as you get to the front windshield (also taped and papered) spay just past where the roof meets it (less runs)do another coat this time a little heavier but still in one continuos motion and past the edge as before. do the trunk and hood in the same manner. let dry over night. I would advise purchasing the clear coat spray from duplicolor and put a coat over your stripes after it dries completely. hope this helped a bit

Q: I am looking for a 1965 mustang vin identificationmanual ?
I am planning on buying and restoring a mustang.

A: You need to join this group, we have what you need in the files and links, it’s the biggest and best classic Mustang group on Yahoo!

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/classicmustang/

Q: What is the difference in insurance between a v6 mustang and a v8 mustang?
I’m 16 years old and have a v6 mustang and I am thinking about buying a gt but what is the approximate differnce in the payment?

A: Your age will definately be a huge factor. I’m alot older than you and when I bought my GT the insurance was about $200 more a year over the regular stang due to the difference in the price of the car. (Well worth it to me though!) That is with a clean driving record, no accidents/no points for over 10 years at the time.

Q: What is the difference between a mustang 2 front end and a 1990 mustang lx front end?
we are looking for a front end to put into my ‘56 ford pickup and want a mustang 2 front end, but my dads friend just bought a 1990 mustang lx for some parts and said we could have the front end but we dont know if it will fit or what the difference is between the two front ends. any info would be great. thanks

A: a mustang II front end doesnt have shock towers. alot of drag racers used them before the aftermarket guys started building similar set ups. find a mustang II front end if you can. good luck

Q: How do I get my 2007 Mustang interior lights to turn off faster after turning the key to the “off” position?
I was told there was a setting for this, but I do not have the car’s user manual yet. I hate sitting in a dark parking lot waiting for those two spotlights that are on me to turn off!!!! The car is just a basic Mustang (not GT or Shelby). Thanks so much for your suggestions.

A: unless its controled by the computer its either on or off no faster to it.you can take the bulbs out completey but that will put you in the dark all the time maybe thats what you want is it?

Q: How much horsepower can a supercharged mustang v6 get up to?
I have a v6 mustang 2002 and i wanted to put a supercharger in it. How much HP cud i get up to? I already hav dual flowmaster exhaust and a cold air intake. Also, what other mods wud b the best improvement for the money?

A: It depends on the supercharger, though most will gain around 80-100. That would give you roughly the same power as the GT.

Q: Where can I buy a diecast mustang with a custom paint job?
My old lady wants a black mustang(late model) with pink pinstripes and I cannot afford the real thing so I wan’t to get her a toy as a joke. Any help?

A: Here are some nice looking black mustang models:

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5335971225&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%2Fdie-cast-mustang-black_W0QQcatrefZC6QQdfspZ32QQfromZR40QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQsabfmtsZ1QQsacatZQ2d1QQsaobfmtsZinsifQQssPageNameZRC0022QQ_trksidZp1638Q2em120

I’m not sure what kind of pin striping you had in mind but you could go to any craft store and get some pink stripe decals and you’ll end up with a nice looking gift.

I bet she’ll get a kick out of it!

Q: How can you tell if a Mustang has a supercharger? Is it the sound?
I’ve seen many Mustangs’ on the streets..and everyone one of them sounds differently.. I looked up a mustang with a supercharger and it sounds incredible..and loud.. does that mean every other mustang that sounds like that on the street has a supercharger? How do you tell what has what? Do the GTs’ come with it built in?

A: You first clue will be the year and type of mustang, no GT mustangs come with a supercharger stock. The 2003 and 2004 mustang cobras come with a supercharger stock and are awesome cars. The 2006 thru 2010 shelby gt 500 have a supercharger. The older saleen mustangs are hit and miss, some do and some dont stock. All the 351 saleens have a stock supercharger and the others are hit and miss. Same with the older rousch stangs, all the stage 3 rousch will have superchargers but thats it. As far as the sound goes, yes there is a very distinct whine when a car has a supercharger, its very unique and you can deffinately tell the difference between one with a supercharger and one without. Then obviously the best way to tell is to look under the hood. Superchargers sit right on top of the engine, you cant miss them.

Are you looking for a 2010 Ford F-150 FX2?

Q: How much should i expect the cost to drop from 2010 model F 150 when the 2011 models arrive?
will i save any money at all if i buy a 2010 model F150 if i wait a few more months for the 2011 models to drop? How much can i expect to save? Could i not just use that as a bargaining tool to lower price now?

A: Most dealers will bargain on their current model trucks as the model year end approaches, however the biggest discounts come as factory rebates (lowering the dealers cost allowing the deeper discounts) just prior to and just after arrival of the new model year, the thing to do is to see how common the truck model and option package you want is, if it is very common wait for the year end and there will probably be one you want available, if it is rarer, buy it now as it probably will not be available then.

Q: has anyone heard about a small diesel motor for the 2010 f-150 ?
heard a rummor that for was going to build a 4.6 litre diesel to put in the F-150

A: My sources tell me that a 4.4L 6cyl diesel will be made available in the 2009 F150!

It may be a “late availability” engine option, but it will be the 2009 Model Year.

Q: What is the part number for the kit to install OEM sirius radio on a 2010 F-150?

A: check with local car audio shop or best buy/

Q: Will side mirrors from a 2010 F-150 fit on a 2007 truck? Both are power, heated, with turn signals.?
The bolt pattern looks the same, as does the harness plug, but one can’t be too sure.
… or will they possibly bolt onto ken k’s head?

A: shut up and bolt them on

Q: Where could i buy a 2010 F 150 Harley Davidson?

A: well most of the time you can find them at a local ford dealership.

Q: how much is the 2010 f-150 going to be?
im going to get the truck and im really wondering how much its going to be… guesses will work too… try and be accurate

A: go to ford.com…no guess needed….all car/truck co’s have a build your own section…put all your options on and see what they charge…on a 35K truck id expect to pay 30K

Q: Where is the OEM sirius tuner/reciever found on a 2010 F-150?

A: not too sure, coach…

Q: if i duel my 2010 f-150 will i get better gas milage?

A: Maybe, but any gain will be so slight, that it would be basically either unnoticeable or so small that it would fall into the margin of error in your calculations. It’ll make it sound better though.

Q: what is the 1/4mile time for a 2010 f-150 5.4 crew cab w/ exuast?
has anyone took their truck to the strip, what times did you get and would it beat gmc and chevy????ohhhh

A: Most 5.4L F-150s run Mid 16s to low 17s in the 1/4 mile an exhaust system alone wont make much difference in the 1/4 mile. As far as beating the GMC’s and Chevy’s, That depends on Several things. Lets say were talking about a 5.3L Powered Crew cab Chevy with the same set up as your F-150. Then it can really go either way. The 5.4L Makes more torque at lower RPM’s and can get off the line faster than a 5.3L GM but the 5.3L has a little more top end than the 5.4L, So its like I said, It can come down to whoever gets the jump on who. The 6-speed auto in the 2009 and newer trucks really wakes up both the 5.4L and 5.3L

Just wait for 2011 all new engines For the F-150 including a 360hp 5.0L V8 and 412hp 6.2L V8

Q: which truck looks more mexican, the 2010 silverado or the 2010 f-150?

A: The chevy silverado look mokre mexican cuz the f-150 look american and is too pimped out for a mexican

Q: whats better 2010 f-150 vs 2010 gmc serria?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: please give me the picture and the name for the new 2010 F-150?
picture and name? search

A: I have no picture but it has the word Platinum across the tail gate, It was grey and had a high shiny silver plate covering 3/4 of the gate surface.

Q: whos better f-150,serria, servilrado 2010?

A: the sierra, better resale value too.

Q: Does my truck require a computer tune if I install a new intake system?
2010 F-150 4.6 V8
Just installed an aFe cold air intake

A: It depends on what you installed.Did you put a bigger mass airflow sensor on it?I installed a C & L intake on my Mustang GT and it required a programmer to make it run because it had a much bigger mass airflow sensor than stock.I used a Diablo tuner.Til i did that it would only run in limp home mode.If yours is still stock you should be fine.

Q: What is the best new truck to buy? Give arguments/stats?
I like how the 2010 F-150 looks inside/out but I heard Silverado/Sierra has more hp as does Dodge. I want to buy a truck to go offroad, tow a boat, and use it for everything.

A: You can look up the specs…

Truth is they are all about the same….I would drive all three, and see which one feels the best…..

My horsefarm owns a GMC duallie with a diesel engine, It pulls a 38′ horse trailer without any problems…

I have driven the Dodge and the Ford, and of those two I prefer the Dodge…

Are you looking for a 2010 Ford F-150?

Q: What would cause a heater in a 1998 F-150 to stop working?
My F-150 runs fine and this is the first problem ive had with the heat. I thought the cab was heated by the engine, but when the heat is on only cold air comes out of the vents. Same with the defroster. My truck is entirely factory stock so it isnt something ive added to it. I need help its freakin cold outside!

A: check your antifreeze level in your radiator…I bet it is low…

Q: How can I decorate my F-150 for Truck or Treat and include TMNT?
I have a Gold F-150 2000. My costume is a ninja turtle and I need a little help with how to decorate my truck. I am going to use a turtle sand box with dirt and some green styro-foam bowls (upside down) as a way for the kids to look for the candy. Also I have a bale of hay that all for of the TMNT cutouts will be stuck in. But the truck itself seems like it needs something.

Please Help!

A: I think you should make it look like a pizza delivery truck. Make signs to put on the doors and put a green light in the cab. Maybe play some cool music.

Q: How to make my F-150 louder and pass inspection?
I have a 2001 5.4 f-150. I have true dual Flowmaster 40 series. I want to make it louder and have a more of a rumble. I was wondering if Magnaflow Hi Flow Cats and an K&N air Intake system would help. But if there are any other after market parts please just let me know.

A: get some headers

Q: Is it possible to buy a 2009 F-150 with a manual four wheel drive selector gearshift?
I have always enjoyed automatic transmissions but I prefer to manually shift into four wheel drive with a floor mounted gearshift as opposed to the dash mounted electronic selector switch as found on most new trucks. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to special order a new F-150 or other full size truck with a manual 4WD shifter?

A: Yes they did build a few with the manual shift transfer case but only on the bare bones XL trim level and almost any option package on that truck included an upgrade to the electronic shift transfer case so trucks equipped with the manual transfer case are rare. Personally I like the electric shift transfer case as it has been very trouble free. (I have owned 3 of the newer model electric shift transfer case trucks and NO problems).

Q: How to install a newer truck box (bed) on a 93 F-150?
OK, I have a F-150, the cab is in great shape, but the box is really rotted and rusty on the rear fenders. I’m planning on getting another box for it, but was wondering on exactly how to switch them. Things like tail lights and the gas doors (dual tanks). Even a reference to a how-to website. Doing it this way is around $800-$1000 cheaper than bringing the truck with the rotten box to the body repair shop.
* I already have a box lined up to purchase*

A: look on e-bay first, i would try to mate the same year, or within
a year or two since they change the bodys so much. like
width and such. being 17 years old could have something
to be concerned about finding something that will fit good luck

Q: What is the biggest tire size i can put on a 99 F-150 on stock rims?
I am looking to give my F-150 2wd a more off-road stance with some off road tires but i dont want to lift it as of yet. But i also dont want the tires rubbing on the inside fender well if yall know it would be a great help.

A: first thing… to make a truck look and ACT (most importantly) “more off-road” it’d be best to get a 4wd instead of 2wd. other than that… can’t help ya buddy

Q: what causes the right front whell on my 2002 F-150 truck to stay engaged in 4 wheel drive when i turn it off?
Have a f-150 KR,2002 ,truck pulls to right when 4WD is turned off , had it to ford dealer and they said it is a design problem ford had on these, has there been a noyice sent out by ford to have this defect corrected.(RF stays engaged )and to unlock it I need to go in reverse to unlock it.

A: The locker inside the hub is getting stuck. If this is a design flaw and Ford is aware of this problem then they should fix it for you for free.

Q: Does anyone know where I can find a driveshaft for a 2005 F-150 supercab?
I need a new driveshaft or one repaired for a 2005 Ford F-150 Super Cab. It has a 4.6 V8 (if that makes a difference). The problem with the one I have is that it sustained a nice dent to it near the rear differential. Now the truck rides poorly, causing vibrations at certain speeds. I am in the south Florida area so somewhere around here would be awesome.

A: Hunts Ford on route 302 has one

Q: How do I change a computer in a 1997 F-150?
I have a 1997 f-150 with a 4.2 v6. I just put a new motor in and I have a bad drive curcuit for an injector. I need to change the computer. Where is it located and how hard is it to change?

A: Remove the battery. Disconnect the main harness to the PCM on the far right (passenger) side of the engine compartment, secured by one 10mm bolt. Access under the glovebox, and look up, and to the right, and you’ll see the two 8mm bolts that secure the PCM mounting bracket. Remove those two bolts, and remove the PCM. Installation is reverse of removal. Hope this helps.

Q: How do I put a stereo system in a 2002 f-150 King Ranch edition with bucket seats?
I need to put either 2 subs and an amp or just the subs in an f-150 King ranch but there is no room because of the two bucket seats in the back with the center console. Is there any way to have them put in?

A: Use the center console as the housing for the sub(s) and the amp. Downfire the sub and have a port to increase the deep freqs. I’m talking a custom inclosure using the existing console as the shell.

Q: Can I use a 1992 F 150 302 computer in a 1993 F 150 that had a 351 engine.?
I have a 1992 F 150 302 engine that I am installing in a 1993 F 150 that had a 351 engine. The computer to the 1992 does not connect to the 1993 connections. What do I need to make this connection work?

A: You’re gonna need to use the 302 ECM, wiring, sensors, and actuators. That’s why people don’t do too many of these kinds of swaps anymore.

They’re both EEC-IV systems, so the ECM should hook up to the wiring harness. It’s on the Engine side of the wiring you’re liable to have problems, especially if they used different fuel systems. And even if that stuff hooked up, the ECM’s are calibrated for each engine size too.

Q: How hard would it be to swap a 6 cyl gas engin out of a f 150?
How hard would it be to take a 6 cyl gas engin out of a 95 f 150 and put a 4 cyl diesel in? Is it even possible? Any sites with info about how to do this? Would it be a good idea??

A: not a good idea the wiring alone would drive you to drink.

Q: Is it possible to install power windows in a f-150 that didn’t have them?
I have a Ford F-150 single cab with 4 doors (2 being small doors that open up to behind the seats) that DID NOT come with power windows( crank). is it possible to install power windows on both sides with the button and all?

A: sure it’s possible if you have a wheel barrow full of money.

Q: What is the best way to spend my money on parts for my 2004 F-150?
My truck is a 2004 F-150 and I’m trying to find out how to start making improvements to it. I just don’t know where to start. It already has a V8 Triton 5.4 Liter engine, and it’s a Lariat. Thanks for your help.

A: an exhaust, cold air intake, and a programmer, total of about 1k, is a great start for power, performance and even fuel efficiency. If you want to go with something else, superchargers work ownders as well, but cost a little more. If you start with the small stuff first and work your way up, you will be happy, but make sure you check with your local laws before doing some mods, likeexhaust, because some will not allow it. Also helps are free flowing cats and headers, good luck!

Q: got a F-150 4×4 truck do i need to pull rear drive shaft to pull it with a car dolly?
Transmission messed up in Ford F-150 needs to be pulled with a car dolly,do i need to take out the rear drive shaft to be able to do this safely?

A: If you have to transport over 20 miles, I would suggest removing it, don’t need to cause damage to the transfer case as well.

Q: CORVETTE???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
how much does a 2009 corvette cost…one which u can pull down the roof….could u also give me the name of that corvette plz & thxs u

A: Corvette Coupe Starting at $48,565
Corvette Convertible (Pull down roof) Starting at $53,220
Corvette Z06 Starting at $73,925
Corvette ZR1 Starting at $103,970

Q: Corvette?????????????
Are Corvetts out of style???

A: I’d argue you the baseline vette and even the Z06 (just a tiny bit) are a tad out of style with their technology and attitude. Their styling is approaching maturity and subtle improvements will go a long way. I feel with the base vette is kind of like a body builder…amazing power and capabilities, but not used in most effective ways. The base vette feels cheap in quality compared to other cars in the price range. If it’s not going to be a hardcore performer at least fancy it up a little. If the CTS can have as nice interior as it does, the vette should to.

The ZR1 is definitely not out of style. It’s a very pragmatic approach to the supercar. Its got all the fancies like carbon fiber, high end carbon ceramic brembo brakes, magnetic ride control, etc. While there is something very special about natural aspiration, the wave of the future is forced induction and direct injection.

But overall, sports cars should be about personal enjoyment. Vettes are easy and inexpensive to own/maintain and that will never go out of style. I think the biggest cultural threat to the corvette is not vehicle itself, but rather its overly loyal and sometimes crazy fans. After grad school, I’ll definitely consider getting a ZR1 because it has impressive power that is taken advantage of with phenomenal handling. Too often die hard vette fans focus on the silly straight line numbers game and tend to blurt out “American Muscle Baby!” or “The vette owns everything in europe!” Too often its based on the vette’s very powerful V8 engines that are not even fully taken advantage of. Just because something has a big engine doesn’t make it great.

Q: What is the difference between a regular Corvette and a Corvette Stingray?
I am looking to buy a late 70’s early 80’s Corvette but I am seeing ads for Corvettes as well as Corvette Stingray. What’s the difference between the two? And which one of the two would be better?

A: The stingray name stopped after 1976. The true stingray was back in the 60s and it was named because of the split rear windows resembling a real stingray. The main difference in the 70s Corvettes is the bumpers. In 70 to 72, there were chrome bumpers which made them worth more. In 73, the front became fiberglass, where the rear was still chrome. In 74, it went to straight fiberglass. In 75, emissions started and smog pumps made them run worse and have less power. Late 70s when they dropped the Stingray name, there were more body updates. In the early 80s, they came up with the crossfire injection which was crap. In answer to your question, you are probably not going to want to pay extra to get a 70-72. Try a 73-74 or late 70s, skipping out on the first yr or so of emissions problems. GOOD LUCK!

Q: What happens with a corvette in winter conditions?
I live in Canada, and as most know, it snows here quite a bit and we do get icey/slippery roads. I am interested in buying a 2001 or 2002 Chevrolet Corvette, and am wondering if it is driveable in winter conditions.
1. How will it perform on snow/ice?
2. If traction is a problem, can it be solved with winter tires?
3. If there is anything else i should know about driving/owning a corvette in winter, please share.
All of the answers are highly appreciated, I just have one thing to add on. I can remember hearing something like salt used to melt snow on the roads can burn your corvette in some way? And also, if it isn’t at its best in the snow, is it ok on slush and wet roads?

A: Look around when it snows and tell me how many you see out. About zero.

Any rear wheel drive sports car sucks in the snow. Corvette, Lexus SC400, Porsche, etc. These are not all season cars, but sport cars, designed for dry pavement driving. Even most automatic cars washes in the USA won’t allow Vette’s into them for the wheels are too wide.

A Vette is not a main car to own, but as a side toy unless you live in a place like Florida.

Buddy just bought a 98′ Lexus SC400 and we just got some good snow here in Ohio over the past few weeks. His car has been left in the garage cause he can’t even get it out over the 1″ of ice and snow that is on his driveway…even with traction control.

Q: What is the interchangeability of 1964 corvette tail light assembly?
What is the interchangeability of 1964 corvette tail light assembly? I am unable to find the information online.

A: im not shure but right down the road from me here in virginia there is a company that restores old vets he clames to have more parts than anyone out there ive talked to him a few times he gets huge money for stuff as little as a ash tray or a vet emblem ..

Q: How is a corvette compared to other sport coupes?
I wanted to buy a corvette, base model, maybe even the z06. Some of the other cars I was looking at were the BMW m6 and the Nissan GTR, but if anyone has experience, could you please compare them, I am not looking to spend too much, keep the cars in the corvette price range. I am just looking for a fast, good car that will accelerate fast and make good turns. Also could someone tell me the reliability with the cars.

A: well now (compared to your other choices)I’d pick up a used 06 z06 corvette for $40k and buy a twin turbo kit from sts turbo for a fair price or lingenfelter.com…….. if you were considering the price on a new zr1 I think your dollar would stretch further at lingenfelter + you get a 3yr warranty and would kill any street car

Q: What is the best place to buy corvette seat covers?
The corvette is a 1981 and it is red. Should I buy the seat covers online or in a store?

A: Best place bar none is www.alknochinteriors.com

They will run specials every now and then. They also travel to Corvette shows and will install as well.

Avoid the catalogs as they mark the prices up.

Q: As a pilot would you rather own a Corvette or a 911? As a pilot what do you drive on land?
I am a real fan of the Porsche 911; great re-sell value. But the Corvette is easier to repair.

What do you drive from home to the airport?
Didn’y ruin my illusion. The three pilots that I know drive pick-ups and Blazers.

Pilots tend to be “down-to-earth” and practical.

A: I drive a rusted out, bondo covered, Pee-yellow colored 1983 Ford LTD. I can’t afford either cars you mentioned. If you have that kind of money, why not buy both! I never see very nice cars around the flight line, I think one dude has a BMW and another has a SAAB, but they also can afford a hanger. I have to keep mine tied down outside because that’s all I can afford after the aircraft payments and hull insurance! Most of us make a lot of sacrifices to afford our hobby, or as I call it, addition. (Its a habit, I fly habitually!)

Q: What kind of corvette is the best bang for the buck right now?
I’d love to get a new ZR1, but I don’t have 100k lying around. I’d love to own a corvette, but I would prefer one that is affordable and still fast and powerful, not like some of those old 14 second ones.

A: look up the z51 package…(i think thats what it is called.) but we had one at our used car lot w/ 14 k on the miles, nice wheels, some kind of suspension package and was completely sexy and bada**. check them out>i think they may have a lil more HP as well.

Q: What is the life span of a ls1 corvette engine?
I am looking to buy a c5 corvette but i dont want some thing that will have to have a bunch of work done right after i buy it, i was wondering if anyone has any experiance with how long these engines last in terms of milage.? Thanks.

A: They are very good engines, just stay away from the 2002 engine. The 2002 had some real big problems, other then that year you can expect to get between 150,000 and 200,000 miles out of it as long as it has not been abused.

Q: How should I go about selling my 1981 Corvette?
What would you suggest would be the best (free) way to get legitimate buyers for my 1981 Corvette? Is there a specialty site for listing something like this?

I want it to go to someone that will fix it up pretty because it is one heck of a performer! It needs mostly cosmetic work (carpeting, repairing interior door handles, etc.). I have neither the skills or finances to do those things and it really deserves to be prettied up.
We are in Salem, Oregon. The reason I am selling the car is because I need money. The ‘vette was my “fun” car, not my commuter car. If you are (seriously) interested in the car, please leave me a message on my yahoo 360 page and I will get back to you.
Asking $4,500.
Asking $4,500.

A: Try listing it on a couple of the Corvette Forums: www.CorvetteForum.com and www.CorvetteActionCenter.com. You will need to register (free) and post under the C3 Category for your generation Corvette. Be prepared to email photos as you will get requests.

If the free ads don’t get results, try one of the Corvette only classified ads websites like www.VetteFinders.com or usedcorvettesforsale.com. Cost is fairly minimal for the return you get ($25 or less in most cases).

Also, our Corvette Price Guide puts an Average 1981 Corvette at $10,400 while our Low is $4,200. Since your Corvette is running and sounds mechanically sound, I would raise your price to at least $5K and that would give you some negotiating room.

Good Luck!

Q: How do I disassemble an alternator from a 1988 Corvette to replace the regulator module?
I have a voltage regulation problem which causes voltage to sometimes spike up to 18V on my 1988 Corvette. I’ve taken the alternator out, but after removing three bolts that hold the case halves together, it doesn’t come apart. What is the secret to getting it apart? It still has the pulley on it, by the way.

A: Well you have to take the pully off first. To get the pully off use and air impact wrench. The impact wrench will knock the nut loose without having to hold the rotor.
You may have to cut the stator wires also if it is a cs series generator.
To put it back together you must push the brushes back into the holders compressing the springs and then stick a toothpick through a small hole in the back to hold the brushes in. When the two halves are back together pull out the toothpick to release the brushes.

Q: How is the handling and steering feedback in a C6 Corvette?
I’m thinking about buying a C6 Corvette coupe and I’m concerned with things other than speed as well (I know it’s amazing in that department). I’m wondering how the steering feels, how the shifting (manual of course) feels, and how the car moves during tight turns. Other cars I’m considering are the BMW Z4 and the Audi TT so a comparison to them, or something like them, would be awesome.

A: www.corvetteforum.com

Q: Who would buy a corvette when the 5th gen camaro comes out?
The 5th gen camaro will have near top speeds of the corvette, but be at 1/2 or even less of the corvettes price. So who would actually buy a corvette anymore once the 5th gen camaro comes out?

A: The same people who bought Vettes all the other years. Camaros generally have similar if not the same power train but weigh more. Both provide a huge bang for your buck in a slightly different price range.

Q: How much would is the average cost for a project Corvette?
If you could I would like to know about what the Corvette and the repairs would cost.
I want a 1969 coupe with less than 50,000 miles on it.

A: WOW. that is so vague. lets see 85 vett with little work to do 5,000. 63 racing series that my dad did 85,000. think of a better question

Are you looking for a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS?

Q: 2002 Camaro SS making weird noise in back of car?
In my 02 Camaro SS the back end makes a really loud tapping noise when I step on the car or when I brake really hard. I checked to see if a caliper was sticking but all the brakes are good. Anyone know where to start or what it could be?

A: Stick to your rice burner section VTEC.

I would say Universal joint, but they wouldn’t usually make any noise under braking.

It could also be a wheel bearing, both the conditions under which the noise is made put a lot of stress on the vehicle.

Because it’s happening under braking I’d rule out the differential.

Q: What is better a Chevelle SS or a Camaro SS?
Ok, so i am about to turn 16 and i want a true American Muscle car, i’ve been looking at a 1969 Chevelle SS and a Camaro SS. And i was wondering which is better.I like them both alot and i want a loud sounding motor. But unlike a lot of teenagers these days that want newer muscle cars i want the REAL AMERICAN MUSCLE car so tell me what u think. (No insurance lectures)

A: For 1969, go for the Camaro. The Chevelle is much better in 1970. I have a 70 SS Chevelle and I wouldn’tt trade it for the world. But its your call. At least your looking at an american muscle car!!!!!!!

Q: What Should I Put In My 2010 Camaro SS?
I have a 2010 Camaro SS and I want to know what I need to put in it so it can beat the 2011 Mustang 5.0 GT, I wanna know what to put in it and how much its going to cost, plz serious answers and thank you.
I could get any money I want!!

A: Your car isn’t the far off now, it’s pretty much a driver’s race. But if you want to spend the $$$ get a set of headers, a catback exhaust and do a PCM tune(www.pcm4less.com), you won’t have any worries after that.

Q: What’s the difference between camaro ss and z28 4th generation?
I want to know the difference between the LT SS and Z28 and The LS-1 SS and Z28? Also the slp and any other performance 4th gen camaros. would be great if you could include 4th gen firebirds too

A: Mostly cosmetic. Ram air hoods, different wheels, and the rear spoiler looks different.

In the 30 anniversary editions (1997) a limited number of the SS’s had the LT4 engine.

Q: Are there any 2010 Camaro SS that are made of steel?
I have wanted to buy a 2010 Camaro SS and I recently heard that they are made of plastic or aluminum and I want to know are there any 2010 Camaro SS that are made of steel or metal like the old camaros?

A: The body is made of steel. The front & rear bumpers are plastic. The frame is steel. Engine parts are some aluminum, which is not a bad thing. The person that told you that is a fool.

Q: what is the horsepower on a camaro z28 & a camaro ss?
I was womdering if anybody knew the horsepower on a camaro z28 years 1999 2000 2001 2002 &also on a camaro ss same years?

A: In those years the Z28 made 305 horsepower. The SS package made 320 horsepower.

Q: What are somethings to do to make a camaro ss or z 28 faster?
When i am able to drive i am buying a camaro im not sure what year but i want to get a fast one. I was thinking about buying a supercharger and accesories to do anything to beat my brothers 2004 cobra so i am saving up for a powerdyne supercharger and a flowmaster. What are some good things to buy to increase speed? (besides Nitrous)

A: get a decent sized cam, open your exhaust and get a higher cfm intake. Sucks you can drive yet, but dude….dont be stupid like i was when i turned 16….I’m amazed i never killed anyone. Also, stick with the american muscle. My first car was a 89 honda with a fart can. I’ve upgraded….91 Mustang LX…Fastest pass was a 13.52 @ 102 mph on street rubber.

Q: How much does a camaro ss or z28 motor cost?
i have a 97 v6 camaro and i wanted to swap the motor for a motor with more hp. where could i find the prices of camaro motors? Will the motor fit perfectly into my car?

A: That one dude needs to check his info.

The 97 camaro came optioned with a v8, so the swap is not that hard.

No cutting, no fab work. Everything you need to do it, GM already made for you.

Now t will be alot of work doing the swap.

You will almost need a donor v8 camaro/firebird to make that swap. Look around for a wrecked one cheap, or one w/o title.

You wil need engine, transmission, computer, engine bsay wiring, all sensors on v8 engine, exhaust manifolds, exhaust Y pipe, engine mounts, etc

No you do NOT need to change the WHOLE suspension.

The only part of the suspension thats diff is the front springs

The shocks, struts, rear springs, lacs, tq arm, panhard, rear end, etc are all the same on v6 and v8 camaros.

You can still use the v6 springs aswell but the v8 will lower ride height in front by about 1″

Q: What is the best New Muscle Car for the money: Mustang Shelby, Camaro SS, Charger SRT8 OR Challenger SRT8?
Forget the overpriced Corvette.

I’m torn between the Camaro SS and Challenger SRT8-both looks and performance are kick ass!

A: All are good cars. Pick the one that YOU like best.

The Charger SRT8 costs $38,180
The Challenger SRT8 costs $41170
The Mustang Shelby costs $45000
The Camaro SS is a bargain at $30,995

The Vette isn’t all that much over priced as you say. A base model Vette is only $4000 more than the Shelby and will out perform all of the others on your list.

Personally, I pick The Camaro SS. With the $15,000 you save from not buying the other cars on your list you could ship your new Camaro to Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and have their 570 HP TVS2300 Supercharger Package installed. You would sure suprise the heck out of the Mustangs, Chargers, and Challengers that you may run across.

If my budget would allow the Vette would be my second choice.

Q: Will my 1998 Mustang Cobra beat a 1998 Camaro SS or a 1998 Z28?
My cobra is stock and has 373 gears and hpipe with magnaflow exhaust. My friend has a stock ss and he thinks it can blow everything off the street. I just bought the cobra to cruise with.

A: you can find it here..

http://www.albeedigital.com/supercoupe/articles/0-60times.html

Q: My Camaro SS is eating up oil, any idas why?
I have a 2000 Camaro SS with a 5.7L V8. I use Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5W-30 oil. My “Low Oil” light comes on about every 1000 miles, and I have to add a quart of oil. I don’t see an oil leak anywhere, so I don’t think that is the problem. Any suggestions or ideas?

A: its more than likely going through the valve stem seals on it ,that’s what causes it to get low on oil and you won’t notice it smoking or using that much oil,but at start ups it will shot a slight puff of smoke from the exhaust, its not normal either for any engine to go through a quart every 1000 miles, maybe a quart between changes but not that often,a repair shop will charge you about 200 bucks to replace the valve stem seals and that should stop it from using that much oil ,good luck with it.

Q: How much to install a K&N filter on a camaro ss?
i already have the kit
for my 2002 camaro ss
how much would a shop charge me to install the
57 Series FIPK

A: Shoot if ur in So cal bring it by and i’ll do it for 40 bucks but most shops charge you 75-100 per hour but in all honesty you really don’t need a shop to do it you can print out the instructions from knfilters.com and it should take about an hour

Q: Whats the difference between 2002 Camaro SS and Camaro Z28?
I’m interested in purchasing so I looked up the specs and they seem to be the same it’s probably just minor stuff but please share any info.

A: You’re correct.

I most meaningful ways, the SS trim level already includes much of the Z28. Additional differences include suspension and handling differences, different wheel sizes and options, and other, mostly cosmetic, badging and interior trim fitments.

The best thing you can do is avoid “faux” cosmetics like hood scoops that don’t feed a carburetor or supercharger or a spoiler that doesn’t provide any beneficial downforce like are often plastered on the Z28’s (and regrettably some Mustangs to this very day).

Nothing screams “poser” louder than a driving around with bunch of plastic stuck to a car that serves no purpose and usually actually creates additional wind noise and resistance . Clean, functional, and performance-enhancing is the only kind of “sexy” that’s worth having, especially if you have to pay extra for it.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.

Q: What is better overall the Camaro SS or the Charger SRT-8?
I no these cars are different in alot of ways, but im deciding between them and i dont know what i want more. Please help me out.

A: Charger it has AWD which is great!

Q: What kind of Amp is in a 1999 Camaro SS?
I’m looking to upgrade the speaker system in my convertible since I’ve seem to have blown the front speakers. The car has the stock Monsoon deck in it still. I’ve been told that the amp is under the front driver seat. I would like to know if it is a 4 cross over type. Can anyone verify this pls. I would like to get the best 4 speakers I can get for my 400 to 500 dollar budget. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

A: If you want more pound I would go for the Polk dB component series. I’ve found they have the highest rms wattage for the price. 100 watts rms per speaker with a price of ~$165 for a pair with external crossovers. They also come with a external tweeter to make it sound just right and if you don’t want to mount it separately from the speakers, then you can mount it onto the grill of the larger speaker.

Hint: Go onto crutchfield.com and go to outfit my car and enter all the information it asks you and it will come up with a huge list of things that will fit.

Are you looking for a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?

Q: How expensive is it to replace a Camaro Power Window Motor?
Does anyone have any idea of how much it would cost to have the driver’s side power window motor replaced on a 2000 Camaro? I have replaced the switch and checked the wiring. Once in a while it will move a few inches, but then takes forever to get it back up. Any hints?

A: The motor itself will cost about 70 at a local parts house or you can buy the motor/regulator for about 200. If you replace it yourself you need a good drill pit and a punch to pop out the factory rivots if it has never been changed before. You will have the separate the motor from the regulator if you are just changing that piece. It is not that hard of a job if you have patience but you be careful of the glass breaking when you take it lose from the regulator. Tape it to the top of the door to hold if you are alone.

Q: Will a 02 camaro front end fit on a 95 camaro? Or do i have to change the fenders?
Will a 02 camaro front end fit on a 95 camaro? Or do i have to change the fenders? They are the same f-body just wonderign if it is simple as replace or replace the whole front?

A: check a parts book or your local body shop to see if if they are the same part number

A: completely different bodystyle, even if the screws did align it would look funny flat– flat– flat– flat– round!!!

Q: How do you install rear brakes on a 97 camaro?
I had a terrible time re-installing the rear caliper on a 97 camaro. What is the trick on these things? It was not a piston compression issue.

A: make sure the bushing are flush on both sides of the caliper where the bolts go in and hold the bolt and try to feel for the hole as you lift and slide the caliper into place, then use the rachet.

Q: How do i drive faster then the governor limit on my 2000 Camaro?
I have a 2000 camaro t-top, V6 (unfortunately not V8) i want to know how can i drive faster then the limit of the governor. What is the fastest this car will go with the governor?
Are there any special ways i can press the gas so it overrides the governor?
I’ve been told i could get a processor, but i have know idea about mechanics… where could i buy one of these- please list some brands, types and names.
I heard processors were difficult to install is this true?

Aside from the governor how what addictions can i add to my camaro to make it faster?

Thank you so much

A: the only way to bypass the governer is to remove it. so you’ll want to get a new cpu. can’t think of the company I want to name that has them, but if you do a google search you should be able to find some.

other things that will make your car faster
taking weight out of it will make it accelerate faster
everything else to increase speed would be some type of engine mod. like a new exhaust system.

Q: What’s the difference between 1990 camaro rs and iroc?
What’s the difference is between the 1990 camaro rs with the 305 and a 1990 camaro iroc with the 305. What does the iroc have that makes it a faster stronger car?

A: The 1990 model year was only a half year of production due to Chevrolet not renewing the IROC contract, no IROC-Z’s were produced after 12/31/1989. Instead, the 1991 Camaros were introduced early during last half of the 1990 model year.1990 IROC’s and RS’s are easily identifiable: 1990 was the first year for the updated interior which included drivers side airbag, redesigned instrument panel, yellow lettering on dash, rounded controls, etc. So 1990 Chevy Camaro IROC’s are the only ‘90 Camaro IROC’s with the new interior. 1990 RS’s are the only RS’s with the new interior and the older valances (before the new `scooped’ side valances). The LB8 2.8 liter V-6 was replaced by an increased displacement 3.1 liter LH0 V-6
.
In 1990, the base engine for the IROC was finally the LB9 TPI 305 rather than the base LO3 V-8. However, G92 had to be specified now to get the better cam/230hp LB9 motor in the 5 speed LB9 IROC-Z. Previously, all 5 speed LB9 IROC-Z’s got the higher output LB9.
The 350 (only) received lighter weight pistons thus a slight horsepower increase of 240 (1989) to 245 (1990).

In 1990, TPI Camaros switched from MAF air metering systems to MAP systems. This eliminated the mass airflow (MAF) sensor.IROC-Z convertible now came standard with 16 inch wheels and P245/50ZR-16 tires.
G80 limited slip differential became standard equipment on IROC-Z.The Borg-Warner HD rear end was dropped and replaced with the old 7.625 (7 5/8) inch rear end. Because the Borg-Warner axles were no longer being used for the G92 option, optional axle ratios changed slightly: LB9 305 TPI 5 speed went from 3.45 (1989) to 3.42 (1990) and the B2L 350 TPI went from 3.27 (1989) to 3.23 (1990).

Q: How much would it cost to paint a 1997 camaro?
I bought a 97 camaro and the front driver side fender is cracked and the hood is rusting from the underside. I have to get a new hood and fender and i didnt know how much it would cost to repaint the car. The car is black if that matters.

A: actualy it depends on what kind of paint like matalic or gloss it depends

Q: What parts are needed when changing shocks in a 1980 camaro?
I need to replace the struts in my 1980 Chevy Camaro. Aside from the shocks themselves, what other parts will be needed?

A: The 1980 camaro dont have struts, it has shocks on all 4 corners.

No other parts needs to be replaced. Its a take off and pu on replacment. Just remove worn shocks an put in new ones

Q: How do you tell What kind of camaro you have?
Meaning..is it a berlinetta, an iroc z, or a z28. It doesn’t say on the title, I just bought the car, all it says is that its an 82 camaro. My girlfriends dad is a GM Mechanic and says it kind of looks like the z28 body and it has an RS z28 hood, but that could be an after market hood. Is there any distinguished way to be able to tell what kind of camaro it is?

A: Well you look at the year.. 1982 on yours..

Then look at what models was made in that year.. In ‘82 you had
Sport Coupe
Berlinetta
Z28..
No RS, no Iroc

Then you match up your car’s options/engine with what could be had for that year.

Z28’s only came with the LG4 305 with 4bbl carb or LU5 305 with crossfire injetion (two throttle bodys)

Berlinetta only came with the LC1 2.8L v-6 or the LG4 305

Sport Coupe could have the LQ8 2.5 L 4 cyl, LQ9 2.5L 4 cyl, LC1 2.8L v-6, or the LG4 305 v-8

Now being some shares the same engines..

Sport coupes are the base model, no extras, just speedo, and gas gauge, rest warning lights

Berlinetta was a higher optioned car, had nicer seats, interior trim, body, etc plus it had the gauges.. speedo, tach, voltmeter, oil pressure, water temp and fuel level

Now a great eaay way to tell if it’s a Z28… Look at the front nose/bumper.. The z28 didnt have the 3 horizontal slots above the grilles.. The sport coupes and Berlinettas did

The z28 also had “ground effects” on the side, rear and front of car under the norm body parts..

Q: How do you replace battery cables and connectors on Chevy Camaro?
I have a 98′ Chevy Camaro 3.8L V6 Coupe and I need to replace the battery cables and connectors because my current ones are corroded by battery acid. Yet, I have no idea how to do that. I have very little experience working on automobiles. Any advice would be great!

A: There are two many cables. The positive which is Red and the negative which is Black. When removing and installing the cables, always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing repairs. This is also the last thing to be connected. This will prevent you from shorting out the electrical system.
The battery terminals are a side mount and the battery is a 78 series. The bolts are 5/16′. The negative cable runs down to the side of the engine and is attached with a 9/16′ or 14mm bolt. The positive cable runs down to the starter and is attached using a 15mm lock nut. This can sometimes be tricky to remove because the terminal stud on the starter solenoid can come loose while trying to loosen the lock nut. To prevent this from happening, hold the cable with your other hand while loosening the lock nut.
Hope this helps and good luck. Christopher

Q: Why is fuel leaking out the choke of my 1989 camaro when i try to start my car?
Hi, i have a 1989 camaro rs v6 2.8 l fuel injection that leaks gas through the choke when trying to start the engine. If i keep turning the ignition it leaks more gas without me giving it gas. Is it normal to leak fuel if the car isnt starting because battery is low? What can be wrong with it need some help pls. Thanks.

A: my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop….

Q: How much horsepower would be recommended for a first generation Camaro until it becomes counterproductive?
I am planning to restore a 1967 Camaro for street use and desire a respectable quarter mile time. There has to be a limiting point where, for example, 500 hp would produce about the same quarter mile time as 700 hp because of the limiting factors like tires or weight distribution (or am I totally wrong about this assumption). Remember, the primary use would be for a street rod not a dragster.

A: sorry dude but that’s not correct as long as you have a good launch technique 700 H.P. will always make a car faster vs. 500 H.P. buuut on the other hand if the 700 H.P. car is running bias plys on a stock suspension and the 500 H.P. car has been back halved with a four link rear suspension and 12 inch wide drag slicks then yeah the 700 H.P. don’t do much good. Oh if your using it as a street rod 500 H.P. is plenty you will be good for at least 12s and even 10s if your car is set up ( like the four link suspension and the 12 inch wide drag slicks for example)

Q: How many motor and tranny mounts does a 1994 v6 Camaro have?
Can anybody tell me how many engine mounts a 1994 v6 camaro has. Also how many tranny mounts? If you ever had to replace them, what was the cost?

A: it has two motor mounts there about $20 a Peace they have one trans mount $30 but it has a stabilizer that goes from trans to rear end not sure how much it cost

Q: How would a 82 Camaro look metallic green with 2 white racing stripes?
I have a 82 Camaro and i am putting a 3 inch hood scoop on it. I am then painting it. I am thinking metallic green with 2 white racing stripes up the middle. Can anyone tell me how they think this would look or send me links to pics of a car painted like that. I want the car to stand out and look nice.

A: uhh epic?

Q: How do i Replace the fuel pump in my 1988 camaro with out dropping the gas tank?
My fuel pump is not working on my camaro it idles for about 4 seconds then it dies i only get it started by putting gas directly threw my throttle body and could it possibly just be wired wrong help please its my first car and i don’t really know much about it ???
Carberater swap possible??

A: Several possibility’s. But if it is the pump, you will need to drop the tank. It is not that hard.
Change fuel filter for sure . Check fuel pressure, to confirm it is the pump. I had a rig that had loose connection at the tank (electrical ) . I would reach up and disconnect the wiring plug to the pump and then reinstall it. Dirty contacts at the plug was my problem.
Good luck

Are you looking for a 2010 Nissan 370Z?

Q: What effect will the release of the 370Z have on the price of the 350Z?
I’m looking to buy a 350z sometime soon (6mo-2yr). I’m hoping that the release of the 370z, coupled with the economic troubles of the automobile industry, will result in a price drop on all levels of the 350z (new and used).

Do you think Nissan will reduce the price of a new 350z since it will be discontinued in January 2009 with the release of the 370z?

A: Nissan may not have a rebate or anything, but they will offer some good apr’s. Plus dealers may let them go for invoice. I suspect used prices may remain the same. It’s all about how well the car is taken care of, mileage, year, trim level, etc….

Q: Would you call a 350z with a 370z engine a 370z car? or would it be called a 350z?
Even if you reverse it, would a 370z with a 350z engine be called a 350z? It would be definitely called a 370z with a 350z engine correct? Friend is debating on this dumb subject.

A: The car would be considered whatever body style it is, (Ex. if you have a car and put a truck engine in it, would you still call it a truck or a car? Or if you have a supra v6 and put a chevy v8 its still called a supra) So a 350z with a 370z engine would be considered a 350z, and the 370z with a 350z engine would still be a 370z

Q: What Would you prefer g37 coupe or the 370z?
I would like to buy a new car and i am looking into the g37 coupe type S thats like the car ive always wanted but the thing is that im seeing that the new 370z is coming out i like the style and caught my attention. I would like to know what you guys would preferred in style and performance in which one looks better?

A: the infinity and nissan almost the same thing..
but the 370 is alot better..
the g37 is more of a luxurious car…the 370 is alot more fun

Q: What gives the 350z, 370z and the g35 that unique muffler sound?
I’ve only heard the sound on these vehicles, can i buy that muffler to put on my 09 civic si? Just a question, and i dont need anyone bangin on my 4 banger ok. I know the si sucks.

A: Three bangs around the circle 6 CLY Smooth Buzz motor noise cannot be duplicated with only 2 bangs around the circle 4 CLY Motor sound will be more raspy. Borla Exhaust might be the best sounding option for the SI. The 370 sounds like the eariler 350 at idle and mid RPM but turn to full throttle the 370 really sounds off. Variable lift and timing of camshafts is unique.

Q: What type of credit score might be expected when purchasing a 370z?
Can you also get the premium wheels with the 7-speed automatic only? So I guest it would be half of the sport package with just the upgraded wheels.

A: As long as your income to debt ratio is ok, and your FICO score is decent, anything above 600 or so, you’ll be approved. These days just about anyone would be approved through a dealer since they can’t sell cars.

Q: What’s the price of a used 370z after 2 years?
I’m talking about the 370z with the sports package which is for about $33500 in America.
I just want to know what will be the price of a 2009 used with moderate mileage of this car (great condition) after 2 years (late 2011) in America.

Thank you.

A: Hard to say b/c the 370 is still fairly new. All you can do is look at the history of the 350 & see what it looks like after 2 yrs. I would guess maybe $20K in two yrs. That’s about 1/3 of the current MSRP provided the car was taken care of.

Q: What are the differences beween the 370Z Base/Touring and Nismo engines?
I know that the Nismo engine has more 18 more horsepower than the Base/Touring engine, but what other differences are there?

A: hot cams and exhaust.

Q: What size speakers does my 2009 Enthusiast 370z have?
I have searched crutchfield, bestbuy, scosche, and the manual. I cannot determine what size speakers are in my car! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

A: ya, I see what you are saying. I can’t find it either. I think that maybe you should call Crutchfield. I bet that will get you an answer.
1-800-297-9469

Q: my father has agreed to get me a 370z but i have a problem?
i cant decide what color to get, i haven’t seen any 370z on the road and dont know what color looks good for a guy. i will be tinting the window 5% so any one have any ideas?

A: dark charcoal or black…that would look sick.

Q: What size speakers does an enthusiast 370z have? ?
I have searched crutchfield, bestbuy, scosche, and the manual. I cannot determine what size speakers are in my car! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

A: Which trim package do you have? Standard, touring, etc? I found a little info online. If you have the Bose system, you can probably use any size you want. Because you’ll have to build new speaker mounts anyhow to replace the Bose speaker pods.
That would be your best bet, to build new mounts. However, they be just 4 or 5 1/4 inch speaker in the Bose pods, usually a triangle shape, which is you need to build new mounts. Not seeing the car yet, I’m not 100% sure.

Q: I’m about to buy a 370Z and I want to play my t-mobile G1 inside the car for music while driving?
Can anyone inform me on how to play the music from my G1 while charging it at the same time in the 370z?

A: If you can afford a 370z why not just buy an iPod lol

Q: if i keep the boost low, will the stock computer on my 370z be able to work with my TT setup?
new 370z, aftermarket plenum with oversized TB-i want to put 2 t25’s on it & keep the boost low until i can find someone to tune it for me, so my question is, if i have a large intercooler & i keep the boost at or below 3psi, can my stock computer handle this?

A: 333 hp not enough? Very high compression 11 to one engines don’t take boost very well. You will not hear the detonation under acceleration at 4,500 and higher rpm’s. It only takes about 3 seconds to melt a piston. 370z has weird variable lift and cam timing that too will make turbocharging difficult. Sure the motor flows very well and that will spool up the turbo faster. But the maf sensors wont like the difference in flow and what about the o2 sensors locations? You will be plagued with check engine lights. Until you can afford that $84,000 GT-R stick with a nearly stock 370z. Add sway bars some slicks on rims and take the car to the track and have some fun.

Q: What Car is a better choice Camaro or 370z?
i have some money saved and i can buy a car pretty soon whens the best time to buy a 2010 Chevy Camaro 1ss or 2009 Nissan 307z with sport pack? Which Do you think is better? Why?

A: Ok. So both cars are sick.. Camaro has impossible visibility out of the back which makes weaving lanes hard (friend just got one).. the 370z is an absolute beast and looks pretty cool too.. personally id take the 370z cause youll have leather, style, and speed.. where in the camaro youll be on cloth… hard to see out the back… and theres gonna be a ton on the road in the near future (same as the mustang).

Q: is the 370z going to make the 350z outdated?
I’m planning o buying a new 350z but then i heard the 370z is coming out and i dot think ill be able to afford it seeing that the g37 is around 36000$

A: I’m pretty sure it will be less than the G37. It will make the 350z outdated, but I doubt it will be much more than the current 350z.

Q: How cheap can I get a nissaan 370z for?
With this economy I know I could probably get a killer deal on one becuase its not exactly a fuel efficent car.

A: the fuel efficiency doesn’t really matter
and $30k seems to be the norm
