A: Taurus. VW’s are high maintenance cars with lots of mechanical and electrical problems. The Ford Taurus has been a great car with a great track record for many years. The Taurus will be cheaper on maintenance and insurance.

I just saw a commercial for the 2010 Ford Taurus with radar sensors in its rear quarter panels, to detect vehicles in blind spots, and it made me wonder if it would affect a radar detector if it was in your car. Does it use the same Ka waves as Law Enforcement? I know automatic doors set off radar detectors as well. Correct Answer gets 10.

A: Nope. Won’t affect it. Besides many agencies are switching to ENRADD which is better. The officer sets up two devices along the road and then sits up to 100 yards away. It checks speed in relation to the next device then beams the speed wirelessly to the patrol car. I’ve been nailed by it but haven’t seen the devices.
Clever devils. Besides the radar will exit the back of the vehicle and won’t be picked up by an officers radar gun a mile down the road in front of you.

Its styling just doesn’t appeal to me.

A: The 2010 Taurus (especially the SHO) is a great car. It’s high quality and high-tech so he can be comfortable AND show it off to his friends. It’s not as likely to break down as a new Fusion or Focus, from what I hear, so if you get it you won’t have to worry about him breaking down like parents normally do.

I think it’s a great first car.

A: It’s is awesome! I want one now! It should do extremely well for Ford. I own a 2001 Taurus SEL and this new one is lightyears ahead in design and quality. Ford did a great job!
They are saying on many sites that in order to get a car from Toyota or Honda witht this level of refindment, you would have to go upmarktet to a Lexus or Acura. That speaks volumes!
I’m glad Ford realizes the importance of quality. They have achieved great things with the launches of their new vehicles these past 3 or 4 years. I seems when you hear of a Ford recall it is to fix cars from the 1990s. This car will be very dependable.
Alan Mullaly is awesome! He is a great leader. He is the kind of man that they need at GM and Chrysler. He saw the warning signs when he started at Ford and implimented change immediately. He has the company going the right direction. He is the man that saved the Taurus from the axe. I’m glad he knew that the current Taurus didn’t have appeal and needed to be replaced A.S.A.P. by the 2010 model.
I really like the design of the new Taurus. They did an awesome job blending the Ford of North America and Ford of Europe design together. The front end is cool! I love the aggressive look. The power dome hood is very sporty. The headlights are kind of reminiscent of the 2004 Mustang’s lights. They are shaped with a similar angular look. They did good with the grill. I’m glad to see they got rid of the stupid chrome bars. They look stupid on the 2010 Fusion and Edge. I like the LED fog lights. They are a very contemporay touch.
I like the interior. It’s similar to the Mustang and the Lincoln MKS. The options are neat. the 2nd generation of Sync is awesome, as well as, the new seats that are massaging. The paddle shifters on the stearing wheel are cool!
I can’t wait to see one in person. Hopefully I’ll own one some day soon. I’d like a red Taurus Limited with AWD.
