Are you looking for a 2010 Ford Mustang GT?

Q: How much trouble will I have swapping a 2008 mustang gt engine into an older 60’s mustang?
I most recently ran into a deal for a wrecked from the rear 2008 Mustang GT. I would like to find an older 60’s Mustang and swap the engine and transmission into the older car. The 08 mustang is complete with everything computer etc.

A: Your Idea is great !!!!

This is called a Resto Mod.
Taking todays drivetrain and installing it in an Older car.
They sell well at Barrett Jackson, if done right.

Now the Year model is what you need to study.
What is the best year model ? 67 68 69 70 71 72 73 ?

I’ve seen the 69 Sportsroof (fastback) done with 06 GT500

Also a 07 California GT stuffed into a 68 Coupe.

No 64 1/2, 65, 66, just not recommended for this

You can upgrade brakes to aftermarket or use your donor car

And yes you need to gut your Older car and this will be a ground up, Better than restoring, also most new car when done.

Q: What’s the best exhaust for a 2005 mustang GT that gives great sound performance and increased power?
What is the best kind of exhaust to buy for a 2005 mustang GT that will sound amazing, give great performance and increase power?

A: Bassani, for power and its up to the driver for sound. I’ve heard mustangs that I absolutely hated in terms of sound (mostly SLP equipt), and others that sounded great. I’ve found that everyone has a slight oppinion variance when it comes to exhaust.

As for your power question, there is very little power to be gained from the system. Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords did a side by side comparo, and Bassani netted 10hp. That was with a headers back swap, not just mufflers.

Ford put a really good exhaust on this car, and its good to 600hp. The sound is a bit dull, but as I said before its all in the ear of the beholded. Go to a cruise night or car show and listen for yourself. Also make sure the cars have the same setup as yours. Modified engines will sound different anyways.I ‘ve got bassani’s on my 90GT and love them, chose to leave my 06GT stock until I find that right set of mufflers.

Q: What upgrades will I need to make to my Mustang GT Premium to use the Saleen 600+ HP Supercharger?
Oh and where do i get the interior stuff from the saleen s302 extreme and what suspension, tires, wheels, brakes, decals, saleen body kit alrdy chosen and saleen exhaust, what stuff should I use to be a drag racer 08 mustang gt premium
oh and I have as much money as needed and whats a good gear ratio and some favorites you have for interior.

A: Interior check out UPRProducts(dot)com. As far as the Saleen, fuel pump, injectors, tuner, to do it right. Suspension is pretty decent for the 2005+, but check out UPRs tubular control arms, Eibach ProKit springs, Bilstein shocks/Struts (or Tokico), Steeda swabars, UPR bumpsteer kit and endlinks. BFGoodrich Comp TA KDW2 tires, Brembo brakes, etc. Stay away from the swaybars if you are strictly wanting to go drag with it. Also for drag, check out Lakewood suspension and BFG drag radials or Nitto 555Rs (unless you are totally slicking it, then get Mickey Thompson). For street use, 3.73s are good gears bot think 4.10s for drag. Really depends on what you want to do with the car (and what trans you have). Also upgrade the shifter if 5 speed, and axles, subframes, and trans. upgrade if going hardcore. BTW, the Saleen blower sucks for drag, why do you want that? If you are serious about racing, go Procharger F1R. All in all, we need more info in order to better help you.

Q: If I replace the engine in my 2001ford mustang gt with another mustang gt engine, would there be any problems?
I was looking into swapping out my mustang gt automatic engine that has 180000 miles on it and replacing it with a 2001 mustang gt automatic engine with 30000 miles on it. I was wonderin if there any concerns with swapping engines. I didnt know if theyre unreliable and breakdown easy or get worse gas milage. Can you tell me of any concerns or your opinions. A: If it’s the same engine from the same model/manf/trim level, there will be 0 problems. Sometimes you can even swap engines from different years. This can be tricky as there are normally engine modification from year to year of production that can become problematic… ie.. emissions, hardware, weight, etc..

Q: Whats the best way to make a fast, street 1996 mustang gt?
I owned a 1996 Ford Mustang GT that has a 4.6 liter V8 in it. I am looking to make it faster, but keep it a sensible street car. Besides intake and exhaust, what are other good mods that will make power without killing gas mileage or keep it from being street legal?

A: Supercharge
After market headers and matching exhaust system.
Better flowing heads.
Hotter Cam
Higher rear end ratio (3.55:1).
Underdrive pullies
Replace mass flow to larger size.

Or trade in for a Saleen.

Q: Would a 2003 mustang cobra engine fit in a 2004 mustang gt?
I have a 2003 mustang cobra that was wrecked for behind but all the engine and transmission parts are in working order. I am interest in buying a 03-04 GT and putting the engine and transmission for my cobra in the GT. Will that be an even swap?

Q: What car should I buy a 08 mustang GT, a 09 honda accord coupe or a nissan 350z?

Q: Where can I find some rear seat upholstery for a 1994 mustang gt convertible?
The rear seat of my 1994 mustang GT convertible is a bench seat. The leather upholstery needs to be replaced. I have searched far and wide including on the net but to no avail. Please help!

A: I would start with the local junk yards, that is very unlikely, but it may work. My second bet would be either car-parts.com or ebay, also unlikely. I would also look on craigslist.org or other local marketplaces. If none of these give any results I would check corral.net (a mustang forum webpage where everything that has to do with mustangs are sold. If there are still no results I would have them redone at a local shop.

Q: What is the best clutch to use on my 2000 Ford Mustang GT which will soon be Supercharged??
The car is a 2000 Mustang GT 4.6 5-Speed which will soon have a Modular Powerhouse Vortec SuperCharger kit. Needs a new clutch so i might as well get one that can handle the power that is soon to come.

A: Centerforce is the best to use. it has a normal pedal feel but more clamping force than a heavy duty clutch due to weights that are added to the pressure plate that increase clamping force as the pressure plate spins faster due to centrifugal force.
it’s also easier on the clutch cable and clutch quadrant (self adjuster).

Q: What are the steps to making a 1994 mustang gt faster?
I just got a 1994 mustang gt and I’m looking to race some. Nothing serious just for fun. I have already purchased and installed a cold air intake system and performance exhast, but what’s next?? Cause I can’t make sense of these car mags. Please help!!

A: i drive a 95 gt and my plans are:

air intake (you already have)
do a full tune up ( performance plugs/wires/cap/rotor)
gt40 upper & lower intake
x pipe/high flow cats/ mufflers
long tube headers
3.55 gears (3.73 if automatic)
70mm throttle body
underdrive pullies
upgrade to 24lb injectors & MAF
MSD ignition

Q: What’s the difference between a 2004 Mustang and a 2004 mustang GT?
I know a regular 04 mustang has a 3.8 V6 and a GT has a V8 4.6 but based on just appearance do they look any different or are they exactly the same?

A: There are significant differences

If they are manuals. the V6 will have the T5 and the GT will have the TR-3650
The V6 has 7.5 inch rear axle, the GT has an 8.8 inch w/Trac-loc
The GT will have wider/taller tires
The GT has bigger front brakes
The GT has a quad-shock setup for the rear suspension
The GT will have dual exhaust
The GT will have a far firmer suspension

For appearance, the GT will have bigger wheels, the afore mentioned dual exhaust and possibly some fake hood and side scoops.

Q: How much will insurance be for an 17 year old driving a mustang GT?
I got a choice, a BMW M3 or a Mustang GT, me being a proud american picked the muscle instead of the beamer… so now, we’re looking for one. the problem is insurance, i need an estimite of how much i/parents would be paying monthly/yearly.

Q: How much would it cost to install forged pistons in a 2002 Mustang GT?
I’m looking at getting a 2002 Mustang GT and would like to install a nitrous kit. I know forged pistons would be a good upgrade to get, but I don’t know how much it would cost to install them, or what other upgrades other than spark plugs that I would need. Thanks for the help.

A: a complete stroker kit will be in the range $1800 (pistons, rings, rods, rod bearings and crank…..this will allow your engine to run up to the range of 500hp (either by way of supercharger turbo or equivalent power boost from a NOS kit)…

if you are having a pro shop sd the work, count on 2 – 3 days install time including a pro tune to reset the engine management system.

you will also require:
-cold air intake and larger throttle body (73 or 75mm)
-performance exhaust, catbacks
-it would be preferable to install performance headers to maximize power delivery to the rear wheels.

Q: Does a roush mustang have just as much power as a mustang gt?
I have a 2006 roush mustang stage 1 (v8, 4.6L) and was wondering if it puts out the same power (hp, torque) as a regular 2006 gt.

A: The ROUSH Mustang Stage 3 spins out 430 hp and 400 pound-feet

The ROUSH Mustang Stage 2 contains the 300 HP producing 4.6L V8 with 320 lb ft. torque

The ROUSH Stage 1 Mustang Varies, but typically, has the same engine as Stage 2 but with less equipment.

GT pushes out about 300 hp and 320 lb.-ft. of torque
